I hate that I cant make this run... I got toby and the 4runner with new mods.

BTW daniel is now one of the easiest trails at URE. They graded the gatekeeper and the first ledge to put out a jeep fire and extrat the remains.

Yea you can still mess around with some harder line past the "ledges"

But you can take harder lines on Dickey Bell and Dutch John.

Next year with erosion I think it will bring some difficulty back

If i'm feeling a little frisky . I felt bad that I missed out last time, so yeah with some spotting I would run that trail.

only damage I have recieved on Daniel was a good gouge in the passenger side door on the second ledge from following a spotters advice... The second damage is a small scrape along the driver side roofline from also following my spotters advice after the switchback and rubbed up against the tree on the left side of the trail.

Lesson learned. Dont listen to spotters unless you ask for their spotting.

me no spot for you ....

no it wasnt you... it was an old guy in a CJ8 that was spotting me and he had me hug the wall for some reason. Wound up sitting the truck hard against the door on the rock wall.

second was the same situation he was afraid i was too off camber so guided me down into the tree.

So you hit that tree that is right after the switchback?

I really hate that spot, you either get scary off camber or smash into a tree.

yup.. every truck I have owned has been intimate with that tree at some point.

Yea that spot annoys me more than anything. I wouldn't shed a tear if the USFS cut that tree down. But plant another one (Somewheres else) in its memory!

I like the tree... if it werent there it would be one less obstacle on the trail... That tree makes that section interesting otherwise it would be just another trail

I will be there friday, hopefully with my ghetto neon installed for the night ride. A buddy with his first gen runner will be there too.

Geeze, do you guys want to lead our "share and care" at the men's retreat next Friday?

Any idea how early you will be down there Brian?

Well, the wife isn't going to go if she is the only girl, so it looks like I will be solo. I will probably be out there around 6. I might be able to get out there earlier if there was a reason to.

I am trying to squeeze out of school by 12, and leave the house by 1.

I might be able to get out there earlier and do a Friday afternoon trail or two. I won't know until closer to next Friday though.

im still working on how to get out of the garage (doghouse) and get angie to go on the weekend in question...

So lets finalize some details.

I am going to try to be there around 4 on Friday. I thought maybe we could set an early Friday meet up and then everyone else who is coming Friday can meet at the camp area later.

How about....? (let me know what you think about these times)

Friday, early meet up - 4:00 at the Outpost

Friday, camp site - around 7:30 at the open site along Wolf's Den. We will enter from the service road, so if you do not get to the right place we will still pass you. We can send runners both ways to catch any late comers.

Friday, Night time trail ride - leave about 9:30 - 10.

Saturday, meet up - 9:00 at the outpost.

Ok - Looks like I'm in for Friday night. Still not sure what time I'll be able to get there though - hopefully by 4 or 5. Keep the CB's on channel 7 and I'll just try finding everyone when I get in the trails.
