Uwharrie Trip May 25th/26th

There's a big open space right as you go on rocky mountain loop. I think it'd be big enough for everyone going.

Thats what I was referring to, but it is taken quickly. Even this weekend it was taken and it was pretty dead out there

best spot i trail camped at ure is on wolfs den... head up the trail from teh trail head at the road you will come to a spot right before you go up the berm hill switchback that has a newer hill climb to the right and wolfs den continues on.

Right there is a large flat spot with a fire ring and a not so rocky patch of ground that you can camp on. Not really noisy and I havent seen it taken often.

I am pretty sure this is the spot in my photo.

I think the picture is at the intersection of dutch john and wolfs den.

The place i was describing is back out wolfs den towards the trail head. on the map it would be just north of the #1 where wolfs den splits and goes two ways.

Nope, this picture was taken where you described. Up a hill an to your left continues the trail. Smaller narrow path to your right heads out of the trail. This is not at the Dutch john intersection.

guess its been to long... I used to recognize every rock out there.

im hoping to make this trip...id like to camp also, if i came alone it will be no problem...if angie comes with me then we have to find someone to watch the dogs...i cant just bring them way too big. no place for them to sleep ....lol

Good deal. I know Adrienne hope Angie will come. She doesn't want to be the only gal. We ahve an old dog too we are not sure who will watch. Might pawn them off on grandparents, since they are taking the boys.

I don't remember. The good thing is you cant miss it, once you are once the trail and there aren't many spots along that trail. I might try to get out there early and set up. The all anyone would have to do is take the trail until they see me.

Yea, well let me know how early you can be there Brian, like I said I can be there by about 3-3:30

Is anyone going (or might be going) bringing their wife, girlfriend, or significant other? Adrienne is not coming if she is the only girl.

i dont now if Angie will be feeling up to going as her knee is still pretty bad ....we'll see though

I just haven't figured out if I will come and camp, or just meet everyone the next day. The wife and kids really want to go, so the only way that will happen is if I just go on Saturday.

Come on, get her to camp! There will be plenty of lights. We have lanterns, flashlights, and we can have roasted marshmallows!
