3rd Annual NCFJ OBX Run Oct 11-13, 2013

After doing some talking with Karl and David last night we came up with some possible dates for the OBX trip. Due to the URE event being the last weekend in Sept I thought it best to rule out the first weekend in Oct to give everybody a couple weeks in between events. So what we are looking at is Oct 11th - 13th or Oct 25th - 27th.

I know some have expressed interest in going Oct 18th - 20th so our trip will coincide with the FJ Bruiser's trip. Simply put, this is a date that I can not make. If this is the date that everybody wants I will step aside and try to find somebody else to work with Karl or I will just continue to help him and talk badly about all of you while you enjoy the trip .

With all that being said, what I would like to see happen is for the next 24hours have everybody post up their choice from these dates and then I will get up with Karl tomorrow morning and we will make a final decision on the date.

I apologize if I sound rude, direct or incoherent. I have worked 8 straight 11+ hours shifts, with last nights being 15 hours. Plus I am known to be direct and at times incoherent, although I try not to be rude .

As ive stated before im good with any weekend just need to know which it will be so I can take off that friday...

either of those weekends works for me, but I will vote for the earlier if I have to pick a side. Neither interferes with pirate football  argh!

Alright everybody, I just talked with Karl and we are gonna set the date for this for Oct 11-13. We will start working on hotel accommodations this weekend and post an update as soon as we can.

Alright good now that we have the date I will be able to ask off from work...

I would like to get an idea of who all will be staying in a hotel, who will be camping, and I believe one person was talking of getting a house. So if you could please respond to this with your plans I would appreciate it.

Wife and I will more than likely be camping

Angie and I will be staying at the hotel. the only thing that would change that is if there was a house and it was set up for everyone.

I spoke with the manage at Hampton Inn and she has agreed to give us a 10% discount on rooms with a view and 15% discount for non-view rooms. This is provided that we use a minimum of 7 rooms.

So far I have just myself, Karl and Michael T.

Oct 11-13 is Columbus day weekend. Hampton Inn has a 2 night minimum because of the holiday. They several room options, but for a general idea of price: a room with 2 queen beds with an ocean view would be around $256 for the weekend, a room with 2 queen beds and no ocean view would be $199. Only four interested in participating?  C'mon guys! You know you want to drive in the sand and hang out on the coast!

I would probably be interested in camping.

As always, depending on my sons soccer, we might be able to attend.

I am planning on going.  I'm having some surgery at the end of this month but hope to be up and at it by then.  Most likely I will not be staying at the hotel however.
