So what happened to the updates David talked about days ago?

Can someone give me an updated update on the definition of soon so I know when to expect the upcoming update? I'll also accept your word that the upcoming updates aren't very important and I'll get some work done instead of sitting on the computer anxiously awaiting this update.

Update 4/16/2013

Guys, sorry for the delay in updates.....

We took a "different" approach to planning this years event and have learned a few good lessons in the process....

Here is the latest update:

1. Official Event "hours": 10am - 2pm. 4/27/2013 @ Leith Toyota

2. Meet up time at Saks Fifth Ave, Triangle Towne Center, Raleigh, NC: Begining at 8am, Convoy will depart promptly at 9:30am

3. Schedule of events:

10am - 11am: Arrive at dealership, begin parking, Pickup Tshirt and swag. Meet and greet.

11am-12pm: Lunch - Hamburgers, Hotdogs, Drinks

12pm-1pm: Recovery class provided by Southeast Overland, location: hill behind dealership.

1pm-2pm: Raffle

4. John has confirmed there will be a face painter on site for the kids.

5. Mike will update us on the donation station volunteers. Basically we are reducing the donation tables from 2 to 1 based on the amount of people that have actually pledged to man the lock boxes.

6. Hotel: Unfortunatley there has not been enough interest to warrant any discount from the 2 hotels that I have checked. A minimum of 10 rooms would have needed to be reserved in order to get any type of discount. Last I checked in the hotel thread, we had 5-6 people who had said that they were spending at least one night.

7. T-shirts - This is completely being handled by John Desmond and Leith Toyota. At this time, we are again requesting a pic or mockup of what the shirts will look like...more to come.

8. Charities: Per John Desmond and Leith Toyota, Charity reps will be onsite as will a truck from the Food bank ready to accept donations. please make us look good and bring a decent amount of food for the truck!

9. Raleigh Police department: Per John desmond, Raleigh PD will meet us at TTc and ride with us to the dealership, providing the police escort.

10. Raffle prizes: All prizes are delivered with exception of Metal Tech. I am reaching out to Mark today to check status.

11. Photographer: Digital Dabbles will once again be onsite to photograph the event. Leith expressed interest in possibly ordering calendars, but that has not been confirmed and the photographer has said he has not heard form them as of late.

12. Layout of the lot will most likely be similar to last year.

13. On site vendors: Orangeboxx Design and Fabrication, Southeast Overland and Force recon will be on site with booth/setup.

14. Olde North State Cruisers are still onboard to attend, bringing some vintage trucks.

15. Total Attendance: 60 registered.

If I get any further info, I will post it up here.

I think that about covers what we know so far. Would love to see a lay out of the shirt and im confident that we will very soon. I would personally like to see a few more people sign up for the donation stations but we will make do with what we have. This is going to be a really fun time and i am looking forward to this with great anticipation.!!

I know there was discussion of a Tread Lightly class in conjunction with the Recovery class on ONSC. Is this something that's been discussed here or coordinated?

Ryan, what would you like to see in the way of a Tread Lightly class? I believe that idea was suggested by Brian of ONSC, they have a Tread Lightly "Instructor" in their club. John Desmond was working with their club. John, if you see this, can you check on this question?

We'd talked about Darin doing a simple 20-30 minute class/seminar covering the basics for people with a question/answer session at the end. A lot of the Tread Lightly stuff ties in to recovery, so it'd be great to coordinate with SEO and do both at the same time. I don't know if the logistics could be worked out easily or not though.

Anyone here work for Cisco? I hear they do matching gifts on donations to both Victory Junction and the Food Bank. Any extra money raised or matched makes a big difference to these organizations.

Can someone update the main page and show channel 12 as the CB channel for the convoys? That applies to the Triad, Wilmington and Leith convoys, but I've posted it in those individual sections.
