Richland Road Sunday October 28th

as of right now i see a 30% chance of a shower tomorrow...its gonna be windy but lowering chance of rain ...

Team GUNNY is in...plus we have 2 more riding with us...first time passengers off road...one reason i really wanted this to happen...so i will see you all at the walmart in Lenoir...10 am!!! see you all there...Paul i expect to see you! ...

So, we're back to Brian plus wife (and kids?), Mike plus wife and guests, Derek plus any?, and Paul plus wifey, rain or shine.

I dont know if this is still the plan, but my intention is to run Richland Road, then scoot over to Old NC HWY 105, run it south along the gorge, then hit I40 headed home. Bag lunch somewhere in there.

My wife is a party pooper but a friend of mine is coming with me and Paul I'm good for taking old 105 back to 40

It would have been embarrassing if this trip had cancelled due to a little rain and the OBX trip went in the face of Sandy!

Team Green Monster will have the full crew Paul. Old hwy 105 will depend on how the crew does and the time.

ok just got back from this trip..had a blast...perfect weather and good scenery...on a side note i used a half tank of gas going up there and on the way back about the same...the funniest thing i found was that going back down 421 on the really steep declines...the truck was actually slowing itself down dramatically ..like seriously a parachute!! barely had to touch the brakes...

had a great time...cant wait to see everyone again at URE in two weeks...

We also had a blast. Maybe not the best trip for foliage, but a good one though. Good to meet FJ Derek and all of the crew members that came with everyone. A fun time for sure.

Glad to hear the weather turned out for you guys, I will wait for pics so I can live vicariously. I will probably go back in late November

I took very few pics. I doubt I will go to through the trouble of uploading them to post. Well maybe one or two for you Casey.

The leaves were nice, but in patches here and there. The ride back from Blowing Rock to Lenoir had some pretty spectacular views. The afternoon sun was hitting all of the color just right. No pictures of that though. We were headed in the other direction and were too tired to pull off to the side. Here a few of what we got. Nothing great though.

Well, I'm home, unloaded and finally seated on the couch...great seeing Brian, Mike, Nick and Derek and families again! What a great day it turned out to be, easy rolling, great weather and good folk! Also cant wait for URE in two to do it all again!

If anybody has any pictures of me from yesterday I would greatly appreciate having them if its no trouble!

Fun ride through the woods. Some smelly mud holes added some character to the road

And for the first time, I actually saw some living animals out there! Some nice sized turkeys (not the ones driving FJ's)
