I have the Midland Handheld CB

I plan to install two additional 12v outlets in the console on Saturday. One is for the CB and I plan to put the coax connection near it as well.

Those of you with additional 12v outlets, where have you installed them and are you happy with the location and why? Also if you're not happy, where do you wish you would have put them and why?

And for those that haven't done this but are thinking about it, where are you considering putting one or two and why?

I'm thinking either at the back of the console facing the back seat or the passengers side just to the right of the transfer case shifter on the side of the console (like Dave did). I'm also considering both locations with the coax up front (again like Dave/totald).

I installed one on the back of the console where you mentioned. It works well as it keeps wiring out of the way. I wired it as a constant and generally use it for charging electronics like phones and computers.

Yeah... I'm really thinking of putting one always on there for the same reason and putting the second and the coax similar to Totald's install here.

I installed a 3 place receptacle at the same place as Dave. Only mine uses the existing 12v outlet to power it. That position sometimes gets in the way of the passengers left knee. If you have kids, the back of the console would come in handy for their use also powering ipods and such. If you usually keep your rear seat folded down then the seat bottom may be in your way to access the receptacle.

These are all good things to think about! Thanks for posting!

i put my coax connection directly below the existing 12v receptacle ...that way it is not in the way of anything...personally i think on the back of the console is a place that will get hit if someone is in the back seat ie. kids, pets....i have been considering inside the "cup holder" part of the console not the actual cup holder but inside the big "box"...persoanlly i dont keep anything in there at all..well except change and extra gate keys...it boils down to what you persoanlly want...all the spots afore mentioned are great spots...each have their pros and cons..is Nicole a squirmy passenger? not trying to be rude...but if you put it next to her knee she could bang into it..i know angie on long trips likes to cross her legs and all kinds of stuff and thats wh i didnt put it next to her knee...also so she would still be able to do that...just my $.02 worth..

Good stuff guys... Yeah... I'm going to have to play with location on that side. It also boils down to where there is room on the inside/under of the console too. I'll figure it out this weekend and post some pictures.
