i love the idea of the police escort sounds so....VIPish...lol...and a helluva lot of fun....Wounded Warrior Project is a great cause and Angie and I are definately looking forward to helping out with everything that we can...

I don't think I can make it this year. IIRC I think I'll be in Texas during that weekend. If anything changes i'll let you guys know. So jealous.

I know it is early, but this is an informal poll. If you "plan" on attending, then check yes, if you know for sure you cannot, then check no. This is not a request for firm commitmment, that will come when it comes time to register for the show and pick the size of your t-shirt

Update:

I am still waiting back on the "formal word" from Wounded Warrior Project for their approval (I believe they actually review our site as part of approval process). Should have word this week on their approval.

The show committee will be meeting at Leith with John Desmond to "walk the lot" and get a map of the event location. We will be deciding on layout for our trucks and exhibitors/vendor booths. After this meeting, we will be "cutting loose" on our next list of sponsors. Also, I hope to provide more tangible information to all of you as to what the sponsors that John and Leith have lined up are planning.

We will be working on the show logo for banner and t-shirts.

That is what I have for now. Thanks to all of you for your indicating you advanced intentions of participating in the show..

I am pleased to annouce that The North Carolina FJ Cruisers have been approved by the Wounded Warrior Project as an official supporter and our spring truck show is now an official fundraising event! I have included below a portion of the email I just received:

"Dear David Bronson,

We are pleased to inform you that your event application has been approved by Wounded Warrior Project (WWP). As an approved proud supporter, you will have access to a myriad of tools through WWP's Proud Supporter Community. "

I'm in this year........David, talk to Steve over at South East Overland and see if he would like to be a part of this also.

That's awesome David! Now we can do some good while having fun at the same time! This year's show was a lot of fun. I look forward to an even better show next year!

X2, I voted yes because I am planning on being there & will do what ever I can to make it. But I travel out of town quite a bit & I won't know until within a month of the actual date where I will be. However knowing this far in advance does help me request for the time off from work & to be in Charlotte, hopefully in Raliegh.

Is the $10 per truck or per person attending? Doesn't change me attending just curious.

You both are correct. As of NOW, the poll is more an informal "feeler" poll. No one is counting this poll as a final commitment total. Not at all.

With that said, there will definitely come a time, soon, that I will need a solid commitment. It is needed for the planning, organization, t-shirt order and other swag. When that time comes, I will clearly tell you all that I will be needing the commitment and that commitment will come in the form of payment being sent for registration. $10.00 per truck. That payment will be requested to be sent to me in the form of a check, made payable to Wounded Warrior Project. I will ask you to mail it to me, and I will hold the checks in a safe until after the show, at which time I will mail them off to WWP along with the raffle proceeds and any general donation that the public may make.

The Payment will need to make it to me by a preset deadline in order to secure a t-shirt and other swag. Registration will not close up to and including the day of the show, however, after the "t-shirt" deadline, the checks will only be for participation in the show. I am asking for checks for your own benefit, when the check is made out to Wounded Warrior Project, that will entitle you to a letter from WWP so that you can claim the donation on your taxes.

I think Rolando may have been asking for more participation because we are in the process of talking to possible vendors and media outlets and having a strong number of participants only makes us look better to potential business that are looking to make it worth their time and money. Lets face it, that's business.

If anyone else has any other questions, please let me know. We only want to make this a great event for the NCFJ Cruisers and the Wounded Warrior Project. I personally know that all the people on the planning committee are very excited and are putting alot of time into making this the best event it can be. This is a great group of people who like to have an equally great time.
