| Alright, we are a week out from this trail ride. Lets see who all is in? Some of you might have already expressed intent, but go ahead and let us know again. Also let us know if you are bringing anyone. Respond here, send me a pm, message me on FB, or however. I will try to keep a running tally of everyone going on the initial post.
The details should already be there and we will start with the trails in the initial post. They are easy to moderate. Rocky Mount Loop has some tricky spots, but they all have easy bypasses around them. |

| I'm officially set to go. Convinced the gf that we were going to a nice park, with lunch by the lake. To say the least, shes in for a surprise. If it rains though, I may bail out. | |

| I'm in! Make sure everyone packs food and drinks. We should pull off and eat somewhere on the trail.

| I think SawMill trail is closed till spring. Last time i was there the fork to SawMill was blocked with a 'closed' sign. I had to go over Kodiak instead. That was early November. Anyone have a more recent report? | |

| We can hit as many of the trails as people want. By no means will I be the trail boss on Saturday . I just wanted to hit a few trails I haven't ridden as much on and that I also thought a good range of experience would want to take. I have ridden Wolf's Den, Falls Dam, to Dickey Bell 7-8 times in the last 6 months and I would much rather hit the others. If I am out voted, or if time permits, we can hit those as well. I will see if I can put up a trail agenda tonight. Can anyone else confirm that Saw Mill is out for the rest of the season? |

| Alright here is what I was thinking for the trails.
Start at the large parking area at Rocky Mount Loop and road 553. Take the loop clockwise to where it connects to Slap Pile. Take Slap Pile to Wolfs Den to Dutch John in a counter clockwise loop. This back to Slab Pile to reconnect to Rock Mount Loop. Travel this clockwise to complete the loop back to the park area. (Its really one large figure 8 ) From here people that want to Hit Dickey Bell - Falls Dam or Daniel will be right there.
This direction will be easier on Dutch John, but still have the fun steep hill climb through the gully. It will also have us taking the entire Rocky Mount Loop and up Kodak Rock. Kodak Rock has endless amounts of lines ranging from "easy" to "most likely going to break something".
It should be a good trip for all, with places to play for those who want to! |

| Here is a map for those who are new to Uwharrie. Don't get caught up in the difficulty labels. They do not have a lot of merit to them. |

| Getting geared up yet guys?! I'll say this - I like pushing the envelope a little bit, trying new or difficult things, and will be willing to give many a trail a go. HOWEVER, this is my wife's daily driver, is not paid for, and I do NOT want to break it or dent it! (So Daniel is out, needless to say). Really looking forward to hitting UWE, it will be my first time! And I've done all the other available trails in NC so I'm definitely ready. | |

| Yeah, like I said earlier. I'm out on the harder trails. Despite the fact I've taken them before, I had some close calls and I don't want to risk anything. This is my daily driver as well. I'll be right behind ya problemcat13. My plan is to get subway & snacks, gas, and ice for the cooler at around 8-8:30am. I'm about 45 minutes away I believe. Hopefully the gf doesn't run late. Can anybody send me the actual gps location of where we are meeting? I know it's the outpost, but I'd like to put it in my phone's gps ahead of time. | |

Ha, you are young aren't you! On a serious note, I really think these trails will be fine for everyone. Dutch John can be tricky but we are taking it the easier direction. Different parts of Rocky Mount Loop can be tricky, but most of these places can be avoid with bypasses. What little on these trails is not "by-passable", novice spotting will help you avoid any disasters. Ultimately it is all about fun and common sense. If you are not having fun or common sense is telling you that you shouldn't do it, than by all means don't. I have ridden with most of the people going, and everyone seems to be good people. No one is going to force anyone into doing something they will regret. Maybe a slight nudge though My wife and I are really looking forward to this Saturday. |

| Brian, we'll definitely have to arrange a run to Richland Road next year As for Saturday, I'll only use the bypasses if it looks like I'm gonna get damage doing something. And a scrape on a slider or skid plate is NOT damage, btw! | |
