Intro to Uwharrie Ride

Small group of us going out to Uwharrie may 14th meetin at Eldorado Outpost at 930am.

Going to run around and let some people who have never been there get a feel for the place.

PERFECT Chad! Thanks for posting and offering to help those that have not been to URE before.

The funny thing is that since i started wheeling my own truck at age 16 I have gotten over a lot of the rush from wheeling trails that most people will take their daily driven trucks down and now get much more enjoyment from spotting other people and helping them learn about the hobby.

Now dont get me wrong I still get a rush on really difficult trails but i do that in my buggy.

I know this is short notice but im looking for a fellow wheeler to bring a truck to ride URE with me saturday.

Working Saturday and Sunday! Just my luck...its a great offer and it kills me I'm missin' it, but gotta pay for those spring/shocks, tires, etc!

I can be down there whenever so If your ever jonsing for a ride just hit me up on here or on facebook.

If ya'll want to run with us then meet at the Outpost around 8:30........It's going to be raining and pretty slick though.

thats what it looks like.. I dont know that Ill be down for an uphill assault on daniel if its slick. I really dont want to swap tires for a day trip and the duellers probably arent up to it.

I'll be there with another blue double cab tacoma in the morning at 8:30 we'll asses the weather then.

I got to eldorado late it was 8:50ish when i finally got there. I got behind more cars running 109 at 30-40mph. Bought my pass and headed up daniel thinking that might be where you guys headed, went from there around RML and sat at Kodak Rock thinking I might see you guys up there.

Wound up meeting two guys, one in a cherokee and one in a wrangler and riding with them all day.

Overall one of the best days I have had at uwharrie. Not really dusty due to the torrential downpour that lasted about 10 minutes and the drizzle for an hour or two. Not too muddy cause lets face it URE is so packed in it takes a weeks rain to soften the ground up. Just slick enough to make trails take on a whole new challenge.

Wound up running trails till about 3:30 and got home about an hour ago.

We stayed at the Outpost till 9..........then took our time on Daniel..

Dont know how we missed each other then... I rolled in the outpost and didnt see any toyotas so I rolled out pretty quick thinking you guys probably already headed for the trail. We were probably 100 yds apart on daniel and didnt know it.
