OBX Beach run/weekend - October 22-23 2011

yotadude - there is no camping allowed on the beach except for designated camping areas. i have been looking into oregon inlet camping grounds. they have a group rate for 7-30 people of $4/person/night. i have been calling and leaving messages. some day they will get sick of listening to me on their voice mail and call me back.

Oregon Inlet Campground is pretty nice its right there across the dunes from the beach. Also its right there at the marina and the public entrance pretty cool place also if anyone wants to fish Oregon Inlet is usually good fishing. You can be on the beach until 10pm I think on Oregon Inlet but some of the beach may be shut down due to the birds nesting.

Damn, that sucks. I was thinking about doing it one of these weekends when its not 100 degrees outside. So much for that I guess.

So where are the campers going to the OBX plan on camping? if I drag the camper down I rather be around other FJ'rs.

Well I got the doors off and some temporary mirriors mounted. HOLYCOW I love it. I'm leaving the suckers off to.

Ill get some finished pics tommorow. It truly gives the fj a different feel. And a lot of looks.

Well here are a few pics, I am going to fab some doors once we get settled in our new home. I played around with mirror locations and choose to mount them high for a far superior viewing angle. I here tire noise more but all other noices are gone and the way I have my stereo installed I don't have the crappy sound performance associated with stock stereo's.

Final setting of mirrors, I also painted them black. There isn't to much shinny on this truck.





The mirrors don't vibrate very much even at 70. and they provide a vastly better vewing angle than even the stock ones. My blind spots are gone!

Looks great!!! I see you have your Maglite mounted the same exact place I do... great minds think alike I guess!!!! Lol

Heck yea on the go and well as one of my young soldiers one put it a NBC stick. I will explain in person. From my MP days in the Army.
