| ***************************** UPDATE October 16, 2011 ***************************
I will be publishing an "itinerary" sometime this weekend......stay tuned..... POSTED 10/6/2011
Hotel Info update:
Ok guys and girls...time for you to reserve your rooms!!!
I have arranged for the Holiday Inn Express Kitty Hawk to block 10 rooms for us. They can increase this number if and when we go over that number.
To reserve the rooms, call the hotel at 252-261-4888. This number is the front desk. YOU WILL NEED TO TELL THEM YOU ARE RESERVING A ROOM FROM THE NCFJ CRUISERS BLOCK.
You will need to reserve them on your personal credit card. They will provide a confirmation number, which you can then use to go to the Holiday Inn Express website and enter the conf# to print out a copy of the reservations. PLEASE NOTE: We have until Sept 20th to reserve the room under the group rate, after that, if you book a room, you will pay the "next best rate" that is open to regular reservations.
The 10 room block is for October 21-22 (Friday and Saturday), we have the rooms for $85.00 tax per night. This is their group rate. It has no cancellation charges and you can cancel up to 6pm the day of arrival and not be charged. The rooms come with 2 double beds and are all non-smoking.
Hotel info:
Holiday Inn Express, KITTY HAWK BEACH
3915 N. CROATAN HWY P.O. BOX 1096 KITTY HAWK, NORTH CAROLINA 27949 United States
Hotel Front Desk: 252-261-4888
Hotel Fax: 252-261-3387
http://www.hiexpress.com/hotels/us/en/kitty-hawk/kitnc/hoteldetail
Thanks - David
PM ME AND LET ME KNOW IF YOU ARE ATTENDING AND HOW MANY PEOPLE YOU ARE BRINGING. I WILL ADD YOU TO THE LIST BELOW. I NEED THIS INFO TO PROCEED WITH PLANNING.
1. Dates: October 22-23
2.At least one overnight stay (Saturday), or possibly Friday and Saturday night? I am looking up hotels in the area to get rates/deals. I will post my findings when available
3. Location: kitty Hawk - and points north and south.
4. Group Dinner: TBD (looking like it will be at Sugar Creek restaurant)
Lets start there with ideas and see the responses we get. Then we can move forward with more details and plans as a group (would be cool to see a bunch of FJs "touring" various OBX sites together).....
Some general info about the OBX can be found on our forum by following this link:

| Memorial Day weekend? I assume most people have that Monday off so that would be an extra day. | |

| I totally agree... on both accounts. John invited me but I was headed to Wilkesboro to pick up Jodys ARB rack. Another time for sure though. | |

| I am thinking the first weekend of Oct. but I know your b'day is around then, right David? Our anniversary is Sept 30th so it could make for a good weekend for us but I am completely open to other suggestions other than labor day weekend or the following weekend(Sept. 9-11). | |

| So, I am in preliminary planning phase for the OBX run. Here is what I am thinking:
1. An October time frame. 2. At least one overnight stay (Saturday), or possibly Friday and Saturday night? I can try to call the Hampton Inn in Duck to see of we can get a group rate... 3. Location: Corolla - Duck and beach area north of Duck (HWY 12N ends in Corolla and the beach access begins...there is also a gas station right near the entrance to the beach there so we can all air back up as soon as we hit pavement.
Lets start there with ideas and see the responses we get. Then we can move forward with more details and plans as a group (would be cool to see a bunch of FJs "touring" various OBX sites together.....
Post all responses and ideas here.

| I am interested. I propose Sept 30-Oct 2 weekend. If it can be donethe wife and myself may have a kid free weekend. I have already requested Sept. 30th off as is so that would be a perfect plan in my book. I am game for any activities | |

| Ok, to nail down a date, I am planning for October 22-23 (Saturday-Sunday). So who's on board? Post here as soon as you know your availability.
Also, how many of you out there are seafood lovers???? I would like to have a group dinner Saturday evening. Thoughts? Restaurant suggestions? I will need to get in touch with a restaurant, once we know how many people are going to reserve a room to hold us all.
I am also looking to get pint glasses made with the NCFJ logo made. Thought on this?

| hello everyone. i have the weekend off the 22-23 and plan on attending. i would be interested in doing some beach camping while there. to me, that's just part of the experience. unfortunately, there is no camping allowed on the beach except for in permitted areas. the closest beach campsite i found is at oregon inlet camp ground which is 44 miles from corolla. they do have group reservations available for 7-30 people at $4/person per night. does this option interest anyone? | |

| Sounds like a good date to me. I'd be up for camping as well. Even though its 44 miles a way, the money saved on a hotel would make up for it.
I'd either be bringing the gf, or my good FJ friend from Maryland. Or both. And I'm sure they are both ok with camping.

| I will 100% be there for this one as of right now thankfully I am off that weekend I cant wait for this. I will probably have my other half with me and cant wait to officially meet everyone. Speaking of seafood there is a really good restaurant right in Manteo right over the bridge called the sugar shack which if we stay in Corolla it will be about a 30 min drive to the restaurant but there are several other restaurants closer to Corolla.
Hopefully some of us can meet up for the drive out there, it would be cool to have a big convoy heading out at the same time.

| This sounds like fun! We would love to go too, but I don't know my work schedule that far in advance so I can't count us in officially yet! Can't wait to meet everyone! |

(The Hampton Inn is expensive normally, they may not cut us a deal) There is a Holiday Inn Express in kitty Hawk I am getting in touch with.

| I think all of these are pretty decent. Ive stayed it the Holiday Inn before several years ago and it wasnt bad at all from what I remember.
keep me updated with what we decide, im up for whatever.
I know some of the restaurants close after the summer but ill look into some of the restaurants around where we decide to stay. If we stay in Kitty Hawk, Sugar Creek is right there close ill find out when they close and let you know.
