| so the UPS man finally came to the house.....i got the bandi, i got the fire ring, i got the spring, and the stick. now the question....
are you all just bolting them together? i was thinking tread lock or at least a lock washer, thoughts?
note, a lock washer is not in any of packages

| i would suggest a lock washer...the springmount that i got came with a LW...i will also tell you that in my experience of putting it all together...its very hard to tighten all of it up AFTER it has been put together annd on the bandi...the way i did it was put all of it together, got it all tight and the the last thing was install the bandi to the hinge...its a PITA but its the only real way of getting it all tight and secure...
just my $.02 worth...you may find a better way...

| Travis, you are going to beat me to a CB install. My UPS tracking says it had a departure scan in seattle on the 17th and has yet to be updated. I did drill my holes for my 2 12v outlets and my PL-259 feedthrough today. Tomorrow I will get my ad a fuse and get those wired up. I am taking plenty of pics and I will post it all up when it is completed. | |

just my $.02 worth...you may find a better way... Input is always welcome! I was looking at mine last night getting it "ready"...there was no lock washer for the spring, or the quick release...I was thinking an internal star lock washer between the spring and the fitting on the mount, and again between the spring and the quick release. Prefer not to have to mess with loctite just in case

| i wouldnt use lock tite for one reason..it could actually insulate the metal and not allow the "current" to pass thru...at least minimize the current... | |

| That is what I did and it worked great.
I finished my install with cable routing and 2 aux 12v plug installs. I am going to start a write up in a few minutes.
