Driving from Concord to Triangle Towne Center 4-21

I am planning on leaving Concord, Poplar Tent & I-85 @ 5am for the sping show. Is anyone interested in cruising NE in a Toyota convoy?

what route are you gonna take? reason i ask is that i could meet you along the way and pick up along with you guys...i was planning on leaving my house at 6-6:15 ...and i could meet along 85...not a big deal if we dont but it would be cool...i have Brians # and i could call that morning to see where you are ...

I was planning on I-85 north to I-40 & I -85 . Then I-85 at the split. From ther however the gps or google maps takes us. I am sure we could meetup near High Point also.
Meetup points to be determined when we closer to next Sat. I am open to any suggestions. The Poplar Tent north bound ramp may be closed due to pipe work at the new bridge.

There's a rest area around milemarker 139 on I-85/40 that might be a good place for meeting up and it wouldn't be out of anyone's way. This is around Burlington.

Thats not a bad idea there. We need to set a time frame and keep it short enough to keep from being late to the towne center.

yeah a solid time frame and a if you aint there you aint on the boat kinda thing...is 7 am at the rest area around #139 a good time...lets get together on this...

7am exit 139 rest area works for me Burlington.

How about in Concord rest area just past exit 158 @ 5:15

I was thinking around 7:20 or so since it's an hour to the convoy parking, leaving enough time to get staged, and roll out in the convoy at 9:00. We gotta remember there will be a lot more trucks in the convoy this year than last, so it'll take a little more time to organize.

What channel does everyone want to use on the CB during travel??

Google maps says 2:55 from my house off of poplar tent rd, concord. Was allowing a little extra time. But in reallity it provably takes about 2:30. The post asks us to be there by 8:30. I am open to leaving anytime so we can be there in time. The later the berter my wife says. She is not an early morning person. If I don 't wake her she woild sleep till noon.

i like burlington by 715am meet...then leave by no later than 725am so dont be late
if your later than that you go by yourself....channel 12 on the cb?...im just throwing numbers out there...but 715 am is good with me...

I should be able to make it by 7am......I have made it to burlington in 35 minutes from my house before. I 2nd channel 12 on the radio.

Remember, try like he!! to be at Saks at 8:30am! That way we can be lined up and ready for our Raleigh PD escort! (Al veterans can remember that when the Police arrived last year, they were READY to roll)

I will be a lone roller coming from the northeast, but I will tune up channel 12 to keep up with y'all.

For those who are going to meet in Concord. Lets meet at the rest area on I-85 at 5:20, leave rest area at 5:35.

This will put us at the rest area in Burlington at 7:00 give or take a few minutes. Leave Burlington by 7:20.. Per google maps it is 65 miles, 1 hour & 9 minutes to the Mall.

This should put us at the Mall at 8:30. give or take a few minutes.

CB Channel 12 is fine by me.

Hey, in another part of the forum, the Raleigh people were looking to use channel 7. Do we want to go ahead and use channel 7 with them as well? This way we can all stay on the same channel for all aspects of our grand entrance at Leith. Thoughts?

I saw this in the other thread. I will be on Channel 7 coming in from e-city. I am leaving e-city around 0530 and arriving around 0800.

ill be on 7 too...hoping to convoy in with the group comming from south and west...
