ANOTHER URE RUN

wow what a great time i had today...me and the wife really enjoyed ourselves...loved hanging out with all the great folks that showed up today...i just hope we get to do it again as soon as possible...Dirtghost..is was great to meet you, your wife and scottydog and his daughter and all the folks that we got to meet today....!! like i said ..hope to do it again...!! real soon

i had a great day and a great night... now im sitting at home drunk and alone in bed.... and i already taste drunks in my mout and it isnt evne morning

oh wow... I typed that huh? last night i slept in a comfy bed but i hurt more than when i slept in the back of my truck friday night.

Now I saw a lot of cameras.... I want to see a lot of pictures.

I am loading my last videos on to Photobucket as we speak. I should have them up in about an hour or two.

I am not really scheduling a ride at this time, but my family (Adrienne, Mom, sister, brother-n-law, and nephews) will be camping there on the 14th and 15th. I will obviously be spending some time with them, but there are plenty of hours in the day. If anyone is heading up there that weekend let me know. Perhaps even a night run?

Brian are you talking about in October? I recon'd the campgrounds there at Uwharrie yesterday after the trail riding and I have to say that the reports from my other friends about the campground were not correct.

First there are two campground areas in the NF, one is much nicer than the other. The first one is called "Arrowhead" and has a paved road and paved drives at each site. There are electrical hookups at most (maybe all) of the sites and the bathhouse is large with a covered wrap around porch made of timber and stone. It has good facilities inside and was clean. The facilities were not bright and shiny or spotless, but were what i would consider as typical of most state park bathhouses. Definitely not sparkling clean but not dirty or gross.

The second campground (where i'm pretty sure my friends stayed) was very different. The road was gravel and dusty, the sites much closer together and no electrical at the sites. There is no bathhouse at the second campground, only a long narrow building with singe use bathrooms and a couple of single use showers. By single use i mean there are 6 doors along the front side of the building and each door is for either a bathroom or a shower. This campground is right on the water and the views of the lake are very nice. But its much more primitive than the first campground.

I'm almost 100% sure the unpleasant report from my friends came from the second campground and I positive they didn't even go into the first campground and may not have even known about it. So if you are going there next month, I recommend the first campground (RV) sites. There were more tents than RVs in the first campground so you don't have to have a camper to stay there.

Now that i've seen it myself I would not hesitate to stay at the NF campground called Arrowhead. In fact i'm anxious to try it out soon!

As far as doing some riding that weekend, count me in! I may even bring a good friend who has an 07 FJ but has never taken it off-roading.

Yuri, We are staying at the Arrowhead camp. I reserved 3 spots for my family. I am hoping my brother come up. He has an 82-84 jeep.

Alright the videos are taking a while to load. I will post what I have uploaded and people can check back at my album a little later to see all 8. I have one of Bobby, 2 of Yuri, 2 of me, and some how Mike ends up with the most at 3. He earned it with his Kodak Rock pass. I will try to spread them out more next time. Its just hard being a place to see everyone go.

Sounds like the campgrounds at Arrowhead are pretty nice...it may be a great idea if we could get a bunch of us together like Chad had suggested and take our time riding all the trails over the course of two days...and getting us all to camp at the same place would be a great time im sure...october would be great trailriding weather and even good camping weather...we should really try to work on that...i can just see us all hanging around a good fire in the evening and even a nice niteride....

I dint pay to camp... IM a trailside kinda guy. The place I normally stay isn't 5 minutesf from a toilet

The fall is coming and the weather and scenery is only going to get better! Definately going to have to do this again!
