Greensboro Area Meet and Greet

Thinking a dinner meet up with introductions and discussion?

After thinking about this meet and considering that the NCFJ member that thought of this idea could not make the 2 dates that were initially suggested, I have changed the poll choices. If you would like to attend, please vote for which date best works for you.

Well, any Saturday in August works for me. In September I would suggest the 3rd, 17th, or 24th. Let's here what you guys say. David, any chance this can be changed to a poll using dates you are available? I am open to any and all ideas. I can suggest places meet/eat and URE is just 30 minutes from Asheboro and about an hour from Greensboro.

Let me check my schedule and I will post a poll, hopefully today.

Any saturday/sunday (at any time) works for me.

Some locations I'd suggest:

Friendly Shopping Center
-Mexican food
-Cold Stone
-Flemmings steak house (they have a business room you can rent out for meetings as well)
-Bravo's (italian)
-PF Changs
-Plenty of sandwich shops
-Huge parking lot

Palladium Center
-Sandwich shops
-Ice cream & Smoothie shop
-Hams
-Buffalo Wild Wings
-Moes
-Applebees
-Huge parking lot

Downtown Greensboro
-Harder to park, but if we go on a saturday/sunday I can possibly block off spots at 6pm
-Fincastles burgers
-New york style pizza
-Sushi
-Jimmy Johns
-Greek, Thai, and southern
-Natty Greens (great local brew & food)

UNCG Campus
-close to downtown, might be really easy or really tricky for parking (depends when we go)
-yum yums hot dogs, best dogs in NC and cheap. though I think only open during weekdays. great homemade ice cream too
-New york pizza
-Japanese & Thai, Mexican
-Old Town (bar & grille)

I think at any of these locations we would get quite a few looks, even if only 5-10 FJ's showed up. Which is always fun.

Man Fonnie we like PF Changs and you left out Mellow Mushroom. All those suggestions are great. However, it is so hard trying to park when going to Mellow Mushroom. Do you ever eat at Monterrey Mexican on Battleground? They have some awesome chimi changas!

I did leave out Mellow Mushroom, great pizza. I forgot because i wasnt thinking past the train tracks on elm.

Monterreys is great also. But I guess I had my mind on a location that would cause a scene and get a lot of stares. Theres not too much over there, and its somewhat away from the high way.

Fonnie, I agree on making a scene. The more the better it will be haha!

Im a fan of Buffalo Wild Wing... wings and beer... what more do you need?? haha. I DEFINITELY agree on making a scene...a BIG scene. lol. But that will only work if we have a big turnout, which hopefully we will.

David, I agree with Jami on the poll idea for the date. Then once the date is set, maybe another poll for location? Or you guys familiar with the area can make an executive decision.... we're not really going for the food anyway.

+1 for buffalo wild wings, my girlfriend is obsessed with the wings. I'm obsessed with the beer.

Plus, its not too far from the high way. not hard to find, and a huge parking lot.

Let's get something on the calendar. August 6th, August 13th ... anyone?

6th doesn't work for those of us going to Flusheads.

Who is going to Flusheads? I have not commited to it myself.

Im going, I think David is and John Desmond said he had some trucks following him out Fri afternoon. Fonnie was considering. That's about all I've heard.

Keep me updated on the date im free Sept. 10th and Sept. 27th.

I'm out for Flushhead, my parents are going to NO for their 24th anniversary. Gone for a week, and I gotta "babysit" their house. :/
