We could meet the few going straight to the trailhead at the rest stop. The rest stop is only 28 minutes from Bogarts according to the map. Guess it depends if there is waiting room at the trailhead. Either way we should be in CB range.
The restaurant is only 10 minutes off 40 too.

14 sounds good to me.
Now the real question is how many will bail when it is pouring rain all day? I assume it is very doable even wet?

Great trail. Super easy unless you decide to try harder obstacles. I have seen many stock trackers out there with street tires no problems for them. I have even passed a full size suburban stock with all terrains. He scraped his bumpers a little but no actual damage. If it does rain we may have a little more fun with the creek crossings. I can't wait haven't been wheeling since the OBX trip. I had to replace all my bearings on my the front of my engine pulleys after the beach, and I just got the fj back after fighting toyota again to get another set of front axles replaced. They replaced myoriginal set with generics, and the cv boots wore out in 3 weeks. They replaced them with the same again this time, and I expect leakage again soon. I think next time I will save up and get the RCV lifetime axles. I will probably just meet you guys on the trail.

Nice video from a motorcycle....lets you see more quicker lol
Do y'all air down?, and if so, how do you refill at the end? Should I try and find some little DC compressor or something?...Would probably take an hour to refill lol

I will air down, but only to about 25-28. It just makes the ride more comfy. I have a little AC/DC air compressor that does ok. I can run it off the rear power converter, which works a little faster than through the 12V source. However it is much slower filling my hankooks up than it was my pizza cutters. I will probably just fill up to 32 and then hit a gas station to air them back to 38.

Makes sense. From the looks of it getting aired down would really make a more comfy trip lol

Kobalt Tire Inflator
This is what I am using. For $50 it works well enough. I like that I dont have to stand around hold ing it. It has an automatic cut off that is very consistent. I use this the next day to set my tires after any offroading trip. If you are going to go with us more to places without air stations, wou will want to get a compressor. It makes for a LONG and PAINFUL ride. Then again you are young and can perhaps deal with it better.

VIAIR (Amazon)
If I were buying one, I would probably get this one. Not as many of the conviences, but, much better air flow rate.

If I find a decent one I can pick up today or tomorrow I'll probably do that. I'd love to air down for sure.

Well I'm out. Forgot the wife won't be home Saturday, and I've got the kids to myself. No way I would survive that trip with both of them without the wife

Nick, you need a fenced in back yard. We always leave our third child outside with the dog. Its a progressive naturalist thing. Come anyway. You can do it!!!

I'll have to consider this option.....
On a side note - not to be a downer again, but looks like lots of rain up that way all day Saturday

Yeah... hoping the brunt of it goes through Friday maybe....
Back to the air compressors, that Kobalt one looks like a great idea.
I also found this Goodyear one locally for the same price at Northern Tool. I dont think I like it since it ONLY has the cig plug, and I dont want to chance blowing a fuse out there
I do see it taking like a half hour to air back up though...not sure if everyone would stick around or not whilst doing so lol

Yeah the little compressors work well. I got one that gator clips to the battery it takes about 20 minutes to go from 10lbs to 32 I then air up to 40 at home. I believe it is a slime brand one looks identical to the goodyear link one. I got the bfg tall skinny's though so they hold less air. Looks like rain likely in the early am @ 60% then dropping off quickly according to weatherbug 28721 area code for clyde about 10 miles away.

I hope it does rain! trail is pretty boring, didnt even have to us the 4wd! Its pretty clean up there, a few downed trees but they've already been cleared off the trail.
If anyone is up for it I took the FJ swimming, I just scouted a flat open spot in the river near HC if anyone wants to make real use of there snorkel!
