Subject: Hurricane Creek February 23 2013 Wed Feb 13, 2013 12:01 am

This has been posted on Facebook for a while now and has been mentioned in another thread here also. I know its coming soon but figured it couldn't hurt. The plan is to meet at Bogart's restaurant in Waynesville the morning of around 9 AM and head out from there. I now there is at least 5 going for sure so if you can make it out we would love to have more!!

Probably wouldn't be a bad idea. From what I'm told the trail is about 4 hours long.

Gotcha. Well we will probably be done a good bit before dinner then if we get to the trail around the 10 o'clock hour.

Yeah me and my wife aren't planning to say and eat afterwards. My mother-in-law is keeping the little one so we will head after the trail run.

Can someone put up the address for the meeting spot? If it is not real close to I-40, I might just meet you guys at the trail head. I will be driving a long way.

I'm not gonna make it fellas. I wish I could, but I've had plans for this weekend for a long time. I thought I might be able to squeeze it in, but it just isn't going to work. This past weekend was the most fun I've had out there though because of all the rain and snow the area got. Max Patch was COVERED.

Hmm i think we are gonna close shop up and come out to this one. Brian, would you wanna meet up and make the trip together? I guess that offer stands for anyone coming out of the Charlotte area!

I don't really live that close to Charlotte. I pretty much take I-40 the whole way. Also at this point I am still a maybe. If I do go, and you want to meet somewhere along I-40 we can do that.

Its about 30 min on the other side of Asheville, so about 2:30 for me. It is right at mile marker 8 on I-40.

Yeah, but you will miss the entrance if you are not paying attention. Its not marked. If you do miss it, its about 15 more minutes to get back to it. You have to turn off at the next exit and drive all the way back to exit 15. (that sucked) When I went last Summer it was on my brother's GPS! Which was a good thing because there are a lot of off shoot roads. It could be easy to loose your way.

Well it sounds like we should have enough with us so not to miss it! I plan to GPS it upon arrival.

I did that for Gulches too, but did it IN the park, so everytime I go it tries to take me "around the block" and "proceed offroad" lol Should have changed that before I left yesterday but forgot Sad

Were meeting at Bogarts restaurant in Waynesville at 9. I'd assume we will be at the trail head around 9:45-10
