| Anyone here into photography? I'm currently shooting a Canon XSi, which is a excellent camera but looking to upgrade soon. Right now I'm torn between a Canon 5D MkII or a Nikon D7000. Looking for some feedback on what you personally use or like/dislike. Post up some pictures and what camera you used too! Here are a couple of photos I've taken with the XSi and lens that came in the kit: | |

I bought her a Samsung DSLR camera last year as a starter into more advanced cameras...at $800.00+, it is not a cheap camera, but no where near your league. maybe you guys can chat at the spring meet.

| I've had my eye on that camera for a little while now. It's supposed to get excellent HD video also - David B wrote:

I'm just an amateur in photography...it's a fun hobby but can get expensive! You should introduce her to this thread and she can join in on the discussion

| Found out that the photo site Flickr lets you search photos taken by a certain camera. It even lets you narrow the choices down to night shots, action, landscape, etc... That is a great feature! | |

- I'm very much an amateur but have always been a Nikon fan, and a bigger fan of their glass. I currently have a D60 and dreams of up upgrading the body and some faster glass. Most of my pics sit on my computer or facebook. Here's a few samples of ones I've taken, housed on facebook so the colors and details are a bit lacking. I'm not much of people photographer, in fact I'll wait around for people get gone for my shot.
Some great shots! I've seen people talking about getting a faster lens. What does that exactly mean, focus time?

It's the f/ value. The lower the f/value, the larger maximum aperture opening. This means faster shutter speed. Of course it means much higher $$$ too. Here is a better explanation... http://digital-photography-howto.com/what-is-fast-glass-or-a-fast-lens/
