| Closing day at Uwharrie... go ahead and ask off for it.
Anyone interested in a closing day ride at Uwharrie let me know. I have gone on one every year i have been on this side of the country and you have the whole trail system to yourself. Cant imagine anything better than a Toyota Takeover closing day at Uwharrie.

| yes... My traditional end of year run is to start at the eay trails and run till we hit every trail. That way if at any point someone beccomes uncomfortable with what we are doing they can hop a ride with someone else and ride along the rest of the day or bail early and head back home.
If its dry a stock FJ can run everything at URE... if its wet... all bets are off, should be able to run everything but daniel in that case.

| Lets see...Dec 14th is a Wednesday...I'm gonna go ahead and mark my calendar..i should be able to do it so ill just go ahead and commit to it...not to sure if there will be a great turn out since it is the middle of the week but 2 trucks is better than one and anything over that is a bonus...hopefully I will have upgraded tires by then... | |

| New guy here, I would like to join up with this ride. I am usually off on Wed.
Crogers6569, You posted that a stock Fj should be able to do any trail when dry. I have not tried any difficult trails, I have had no problem with any of the easy or moderate trails, including the side trip up Kodak. My wife is my spotter & we have often wondered how difficult the difficult trails actually were.

| If you have 4wheel drive and possibly a rear e-locker with some spotting you should be fine on all the trails out there. Just as long as you use good judgement and have a good feel of your vehicles capabilities. Most of the difficult trails have a bypass that can be used. I have made it through all the trails with my stock 4Runner no rear e-locker only center diff lock and A-Trac. I have a longer wheel base then the FJ's so you have an advantage over me A lift sure would be nice though! | |

| Thanks, Definately want to try more of the trails. I do need to fabricate some skids though. The rock sliders were doing thier job last week. But I want more protection before I hit the difficult trails. | |

| you got the factory skids dont you? they suffice... my factory skids look like someone beat them with a 5lb sledge hammer.
Once again I dont go out to let people damage thier trucks... Im out to make sure everyone has an enjoyable trip

| Yes I do have the factory skids. The one I really would like to add is for the Transfer Case & Y pipe. This seems to be the one point that scrapes occasionlly. Although my engine skid has long lost the plastic oil drain plug cover & is slightly damaged. Nothing damaging to the Fj itself though. My biggest concern is a unsuspecting rock being bigger than I think it is & causing some major damage. I am currently working on a new set of roof rack crossbars. Next project is the skids.
I appreciate your concern for everyone enjoyment & safety. It says a lot about the type of upstanding person you are.

| I'm gonna try to make this. I have yet to make it to URE and pretty much control my work schedule, so I should be in. I'm not sure if I'll have new tires on or run my quickly balding current set. I guess I'll watch the weather forecast and decide as the time gets closer. | |

| Dsbike,
Ride with us on the Richland Road ride in two weeks. Stop off at Budbuilt while we are there and buy a set of skids! Its win-win! |

| I would love to buy some skids from BudBuilt, but it just isn't in the budget right now. I think the Richmond ride is on the weekend???? I work Fri-Sat-Sun every week. Odd schedule, but it works for me, 40 hours in 3 days. | |
