| BTW...I wanted a red STAIN. Turns out there really isn't one over the counter. I tried food coloring, beet juice and wine...Ended up using red survey marker spray paint. Spray it on and quickly wipe it with a clothe to remove as much as want I would go with this...if I change my mind, I can add it later. | |

| That looks nice. Good tie downs. I was going to say you'll want to keep those tools from bouncing around as they will drive you nuts off road but it looks like those tool bags will work nicely.
Sweet! | |

| Mine is almost silent, but I can occasionally hear my come along or something hopping around. I plan to use some of this 1/2 rigid foam insulatuion board to put in the bottom of my drawer to shut it up for good. | |

| I have lined the drawers with a rubber mat material. Then put most everything in these small zipper bags. Seems to be working out fine. The test will be how quiet it is going up Daniel or Dickey Bell...find out next week. | |

I get the most noise from higher speed runs on washboard roads - more of a heavy rattle - than big jolts when wheeling slow in 4Lo. The big 'whomps' don't bother me much - it's the half hour of non-stop rattle that drives me nuts. Sounds like you have the problem handled very well though! | |

| Ok, so as soon as I saw this thread, I jumped in and asked for one...which Scottydog agreed to make. About a week later, we met up at a truck stop half way between him and I and he mounted it up. I have since added some cargo tie down rails like I saw mounted on someone's (cant remember who?) rear shelf built into the back of thier FJ at the Auto Solutions meet up. I am going to finish it with some roll-on bed liner here in the near future, but for now, here it is "naked." It rocks! Thanks again Scottydog! A closer view of the track... And a view of the tie down rings... The four round things between the two 2' rails running down each side are individual mounts as seen here. I have 8 of the $4 rings so can configure as needed. | |

| Final product looks AWESOME Scott! I love the rubber mat too... thats the exact same one I used for my rear cargo area and the seat backs. Very nice job. | |

| Not my original idea, I saw them on someone's cargo shelf and tucked the idea away! Found them on a couple of sites but I got them through amazon at http://www.amazon.com/Aluminum-System-Enclosed-Trailer-SPRING/dp/B006NK6TKG/ref=sr_1_18?ie=UTF8&qid=1342482778&sr=8-18&keywords=Boss+Powersports . | |

| Couldnt decide if this merited a new thread, but in the end decided to post this here...if its better suited for its own thread, Admin's feel free to wave the God Gun! Ok, so I just go back from the every sixth week work trip to Albemarle to run an exercise. We run it out of a warehouse we lease, so in my down time I did a little work on the Scottydog Custom Cruiser Storage Solutions Box! I started with a gallon of this.... Runs 19.98 at Lowe's and is basically LineX for decks. I had them custom mix the color against the cargo area storage door (little one on the right side). In the store it looked perfect, in actuality, it is much lighter grey than I thought, but you'll see. For max texture they recommend a Restore Roller, but it looked like it would really be rough, so I applied it with a regular 4" roller. As you can see, it rolls on thick! Here is a close up of a drawer face after one coat. Drawer after two coats. They say lay it on thick, so I did. Here is the finished product. I was working, and it rained alot, so I didnt to the inside of the storage area on the right, nor inside the drawers...I will add a single coat later to eliminate the wood showing through. I used 75% of the gallon, probably could've stretched it farther, but... All in all, I'm pleased, the texture is awesome, it is definately going to protect the wood, I'm curious if the high humidity is going to affect adhesion, and I may get a quart if I can and have it mixed much darker to match the dark grey of the interior...if two coats are good...three must be better! | |
