Subject: Footage at Hurricane Creek May 12, 2012 Sun May 13, 2012 10:58 am
Footage compiled together of wheeling at Hurricane Creek. I broke my rear r&p on the hill climb near the end right after flushead finished coming down the far right. Please we went out wheeling and had a great time at hurricane creek which is a designated orv trail. I would greatly prefer to not be jived by anyone who disagrees with the openess of the trail. We had a great time wheeling and all the guys there were ready to help me with tools etc. when I broke my rear end. I had to pull the drive shaft to minimize damage, and Limp down the trail in front wheel drive. I got a few tows from snake eyes and we made it right out to the more civilized fire road passed max patch drove down the mountain, and gotta tow from toyota, but I had to pay for part of the tow weak sauce. Any one who has tips or ideas for dealing with the dealership let me know pm me with a number or info thanks Colin I had a wonderful time, my boys really had fun.

I love a good hill climb! I am going to be in the area the week of July 23-26th. I will be definitely hitting this trail. Sorry about the breakage, but it is inevitable for anyone who actually uses their rig.

pang pang pang....pang......pang...pang.....pangpang....yeah...gotta hate that sound...hopefully its just the R&P....and nothing else...i would suggest ECGS..(east coast gear supply) for your parts...if you can do it...go meet them in person Chase is a great guy and will bend over backwards to help you out...

Yeah the ring and pinion is most likely te only damage, because the way it rode till I got to the civilized road. pang pang pang/pop etc. I've done about six or seven rear ends now on my different rigs and usually sound identical. Hope fully toyota will cover me my 7 year warranty is still valid so we'll see.

why not just go aftermarket locker and gears and not have to deal with the weak stockers?

No not yet, gotta get a good evening to get it all cleaned. I have to borrow a buddies pressure washer and get a few hours to clean it and reinstall the drive shaft. Sounds like I might get it fixed.
