RICHLAND ROAD IN THE SNOW! (Tomorrow, 2/20)

I am estimating 45 minutes from Statesville. I have no idea about the time on the trail. Maybe 90 minutes one way.

Oh wow that is a drive, well I will hit it up after I get the 4wd

It may be closer to an hour from Statesville to get there. 2 of us ran through the trail, only stopping for a couple minutes at one point (22* out), and we got through it in about 1:45.

Oh - and a 2wd with locker will probably be able to get through with very little issue if it isn't overly muddy. Most of the harder parts can be driven around.

Looks like about 4 hours from Raleigh. I will have to check it out this spring, good long trail with some cool views

Lol.....don't go out there with 2wd in the snow. Trail can take anywhere from 2-3 hrs to do in the snow depending on the amount. I may meet yall up there at the trail head around 11 or 11:30. I'll let you know for sure in the morning, I'll gladly lead.

Yea probs a good idea. I will wait for the 4wd

Sounds good. Right now no one has confirmed, so I won't be heading out. Hopefully more people will know in the morning.

Ok, I'm going, planning to be at the Sheetz at 1000. I will probably leave early in case the roads are slick, so may be a minute or two early, but am fine with that.

So, now Brian doesnt have an excuse, and I expect to see lrgrnr at the trailhead at 1100!

Depends on how I feel in the morning.....I work all night tonight, but they have me doing a pie job so I might catch some zzzz's

Our Presidents Day quest for snow was not a huge success. However I had an awesome time in the process. Thanks Larry for showing us the additional creek run. Picture and vids to follow later, probably in a separate gallery thread.
