Wanted: Reverse camera!

Well I am no longer missing off the forum, I had to exit the area for a little while, but I'm home now.    And recently switched out my rear bumpers and in the process I damaged my camera,    I know the wording is still working but can't get any image.   With this new bumper and spare tire carry having the camera would be extremely handy.   And Toyota wants $800,    if anyone has one or knows some one who does or  if there are any wrecked fjs in the state I could get one from that'd be awesome,

On a side note:  mike!    I have those spacers get me your address I'll mail them this week, if not tomorrow.

$800!? I did a quick search and found them as low as $630 online. Probably still too much, but worth mentioning. Is your FJ out of warranty?

hey thanks brother,   Yeah the FJ is still under warranty,   but with me getting a new bumper and having to move the camera im thinking that i may have voided the warranty on the camera,  worth looking at though, good idea

The backup camera on my 2013 died, just outside of warranty of course.

My friend Jerry at www.KeystoneAutoElectrical.com suggested trying a similar looking backup camera out of a 2015 Toyota Sienna, which are cheaper and easier to find used than the FJ Part Number. It worked. The part number for the Sienna Backup Camera is

Genuine Toyota 86790-08020 Camera Assembly

They look identical and are pin-to-pin compatible.

You can find these used for under $100.
