Well we are officially in. I've booked a room Saturday night at the Comfort Suites in Clinton, SC. Great hotel (not too pricey) We are going to the Zoo on Saturday and wheeling on Sunday. I have Monday off to wind down and clean the FJ!

Just looked over there website and it looks like it doesn't open until 11:00 on Sunday. I am going to contact them and see if we can't get them to open a little earlier.

Pretty sure he will since its a holiday weekend.

Maybe, but he might attend church. I just emailed him. I threw out there that we come every few months. Hopefully he will consider it for frequent patrons like ourselves.

On a side not, I am seriously considering the bulk pass option.

I dunno how he could open at 11...if we camp we will have free reign over the park

It's not great a deal. I asked him if there was a season pass? He said no, but you could buy 12 passes for $240. So that's $5 a ticket off. Wish I would have done it 4 trips ago. Now it's gambling the park stays open for another 3-4 years.

That would be $20 a day, versus the regular $25 a day. That's a 20% savings! I mean if you know you are going to go 3-4 times a year for the next three years or so, it would be saving money.

A life lesson for you all: Pay for everything upfront and you will never be broke. Well just at the beginning.

If Gulches was closer, I would gladly pay the $25 and go once a month. It's worth every penny I think - especially when we have it pretty much to ourselves. However I would also need to factor in the cost of bug spray! Winter is great, but once spring comes, you'd better have a good supply of repellent.

Yeh if, it where about an hour closer I would for certain take the deal. Between gas, park pass, and food, its a $100 trip for me.

I know some of you guys are planning on camping at the Gulches that Saturday. You might want to consider getting a hotel room. Not trying to be funny. If you book early the prices are cheap! I am sure these rooms are greatest, but it beats sleeping in a truck. If two of you go into together it would only be $10 more. Id pay that any day for a bed, shower, and cable tv!
