| The rough country 3" lift is an awesome starter lift kit. It's cheap and does the job. I put mine on with my Dad and got to learn a whole lot while putting it on and had fun along the way. I recommend this if your on a tight budget like me. (I'm a teenager in highschool, not much income) |

| Have you taken it offroad with the lift yet? I'm on a budget too and wanna know if there are any huge limitations of the kit. | |

| I, too, am in the "on a budget" category. If you dont mind me asking, how much did you pay for it? Also, how was the ride compared to stock? Better? Worse? Im still researching but definitely want to add 3" in the near future. Thanks man. | |

| I used to have this kit. (well really I still do have half of it) I still have the rear springs and shocks. For those of you considering it I would highly suggest getting the rear springs and shocks, as opposed to spacers on all 4 corners. For the money it's a great kit. The ride is pretty close to stock. One thing to keep an eye on is your upper ball joints. Another thing to consider, I wouldn't add a lot of weight to the front such as a bumper or winch. The brake dive get's a little out of control. The kit has it's limitations, but it's a great starter lift for the money. | |

| Ok, so I just got finished putting on my RC 3" lift. My buddy and I did it in the garage in about 4 hours. I added a little extra to this lift for something different. I used billstein 5100's on the factory preload setting along with the spacers. All in all it came out AWESOME. I am running new 285/70/17's BFG KM-2's on factory alloys with no rubbing what so ever. It looks and rides real good. If you need a hand or are interested in this setup give me a shout. Total lift cost... $440.00. | |

| Good job! I actually put one on yesterday as well; Rough Country 3" front lift and Day Star 1.5" rear spacers. I got it from a buddy. I have to agree with you, it looks GREAT and the ride, in my opinion, hasnt really changed. No alignment issues either, but Ill be getting an alignment in a week or so anyone once everything "settles". | |

| Looks good Rolando!! As I was reading through the posts I actually thought I was reading stuff from weeks or months back. I was thinking to myself that your FJ did not look lifted at BWW, then I looked at the date....duh, LOL!!
What does this lift consist of? Is it a spacer lift front and rear? My buddy Doug apparently has this lift on his FJ or one like it. I helped him install aluminum spacers up front and rear urethane spacers on the springs. He has been off road since adding the lift and had no issues with it at all.

| Jami, yeah it sounds like the same. It was Rough Country 3" black metal spacers up front and Day Star 1.5" spacers in the back... the rear ones were these massive black rubber things. I got them and installed them with Cliff yesterday.
Im glad to hear the good report!! I can accept having to buy new UCAs down the road since they would be needed with any lift anyway, I just hadnt heard much about the spacers capabilities (besides from Cliff) off road.

| I still have to figure out how to relocate or modify my rear camera mount so I can mount the new spare tire on I haven't even taken the cover off to see how it hooks up yet. What I would like to do is mount the factory wheel and some sort of way to mount the camera behind the alloy so it peers through the opening in the alloy. Any suggestions or pointers to another forum? | |
