285/70R17 Federal Couragia MT

Figured I'd let all of you know how these tires are doing now with about 15k on them. They are all wearing perfectly and road noise has not gotten much worse. They perform better than I could have hoped for on all surfaces.

I decided to give these a shot after I saw a set at my local tire distributor. They looked aggressive but did not have that aggressive price tag (about $180 a tire).

I am very impressed with the side wall as well. This weekend I took a hard hit to the wheel/tire. Chewed up the wheel but only scuffed the tire up.

First shot is when they were new, second is after the rock encounter, and the third is with 15k this morning.

Wow! Didn't realize the rim hit that hard. Amazing the tire only got scuffed. The Duratrac would have peeled in half.....

How do those tires sound on the highway?

Honestly they aren't bad at all! They are only a little louder than the terra grapplers they replaced. You're more than welcome to come along for a listen one day!

I'd like to do that, just to see the difference for the next tire choice. I've gotta get my car over to you for inspection and a few other miscellaneous things soon....

Wow, they look like they are wearing well and definately the sidewall out performed what I've come to expect from the duratracs. I've got a ways to go, but will have to keep these in mind for the future as well.
