man im saving my pennies for a big weekend at uwharrie opening weekend.

I would love to join but im taking two trucks and a 4wheeler to uwharrie with me the last weekend in march and another trip just isnt in the cards.

oh and my 4runner is more broken than ever...

Sheetz was a perfect spot I think. Right off the highway and easy to get in and out of.....

I switched schedules with a guy at work, so I'll be off this weekend. What time are you guys planning on getting there and for how long?

I was thinking meeting up in statesville around 9 and then at the trail head (where we would meet you) around 10. Paul looks to be traveling the furthest, so it will really depend on him. Hopefully he will chime in here.

Let me check with the co-pilot and see what she is thinking...if she isnt in, then 9 is great, ...if she is, it may take some cajoling...I'll let you know shortly

We spent about 3-4 hours on the trail, goofin off, etc.

ugh... dont count on me yet but I think I might have to make this trip. I got one wheel bearing fixed that ought to be good enoguh to get me by for a day of light wheeling.

oh and if anyone has a gas can they can bring with with them Ill fill it up if i can use it. My tank only holds about 12 gallons now.

my tank is drastically more skinny than it used to be. I made a trip to a buddies house in TN over the winter and did some wheeling on his farm. Wound up mashing my gas tank flat.

well i wont be there this weekend im hoping to go two weeks later...

Gas Tank, skid plate, sliders

not a problem..im gonna be gone (in texas) at the end of the week..gone for 10 days...i wanna get richland rd run together for the 11th of march..havent been and wanna go up there pretty bad..

So right now it's looking like maybe 9am until sometime after lunch. What kind of trail is it...or what kind of terrain should I expect?

Its a light trail with several water crossings. Its through the mountains so you can expect mud, rocks, and limbs. There are a few places to place in that are more difficult. A few rocks, a few hills, and one section of the creek that is pretty rough. So I would say it is mild that you can choose to make moderate.

Nice. Sounds similar but a little rougher than Hurricane Creek!

If the group meets at 9am, what do you think is a realistic time that everyone will be back on the road? ...just trying to figure out if I'm going to head into work for a little while Saturday night after wheeling.

Last time we hit the trail about 11 and left for the day close to 3. If we start the trail around 10 this time I would estimate around 2. Much of it will depend on how much we stop, play, etc.

You are welcome to meet us in Statesville, but it might be easiest on you to meet us in Lenoir. There is a Walmart on hwy 321 in Lenoir we could easily meet you at. The trail exits into Blowing Rock. You would probably be the best judge of how long it takes for you to get back.
