This bumper uses the factory hitch receiver. I actually didn't touch the hitch...the bumper is on top of it. The tire clearance is the same if not a HAIR smaller! My 295/70R17's are the largest that would fit...it barely touches when I shut my door now.

| Got a wild hair this morning after work and painted my shovel red to match the ax. Then mounted them on the rack with some roll bar mounts/Quickfists. I may move them towards the rear a little later on, not sure I like the aesthetics of the ax/shovel being that far forward. For a really cheap mod, this turned out great! Here's a shatty cell pic: | |

| Been getting the FJ prepped for the long trip out to Colorado... Knocked a few things off the list: -Replaced rear differential fluid with Mobil 1 -Changed cabin filter -Cleaned K&N air filter -Changed spark plugs to NGK V-Power (LFR6C-11) -Removed and cleand the mass air flow sensor -Mounted the Powertank -Replaced the Smittybilt winch solenoid with a Titan winch solenoid and relocated it -Finally got around to mounting up the sliders (fabricated by "bigdogdewey2", thanks Mike!) Still need to change the brakes and T-case fluid before we leave but that shouldn't take long. The FJ seems to run a lot smoother after the spark plug change. It wasn't running rough or anything but after the change...it just seems smoother. | |

| I'll do my best, I plan to get a lot of pic/video media I'm still stoked about wining the 40% off coupon for Powertank at the show. I was planning on buying one anyway, so it saved me a couple of hundred bucks! Went today to get it filled...a whopping $12 Professional blurry image: | |

| I was tossing around the idea of selling the FJ and buying a new 4Runner Trail Edition but I really think I would miss the FJ. So to subdue the urge to sell the FJ, I've been thinking about some mods. Playing on the computer at work, this is what I've come up with so far...think of it as a 2007 Trail Team: - Hood decal
- Painted roof
- All silver blacked out
- New wheels (something black)
- Roof lights (on new rack)
I went ahead and got in touch Ameasing and ordered a hood decal with the TRD cut out. It should be here in a few days! One thing I'm not sure about so far is the roof lights. They will be on an aftermarket roof rack but I'm torn between the LED lightbar(s) and something like the BIG Lightforce 240s. The bigger lights might be a hazard on the tight woods trails but I like the look..hmmm..

| I think the all blue and black looks really good. I also like round lights. I don't think the light bars match the styling of the FJ. |

I love the light output of the LEDs but I agree that sometimes they don't look right on a FJ. - DamnItsAGlasgow wrote:

It crossed my mind but I haven't seen a lot of Voodoo blue FJ's with black roofs that I like!

| What kind of shovel/axe is that and how do you have them mounted? And if you are looking into lights but want round light instead of a bar but want LEDs instead of halogen, check out ARB's new toys.

Sure one light is pretty damn expensive but it puts out the same light that a 30" bar would. So for the price of one LED bar, you can get two of those for twice the light. Great deal if you ask me. They also come in a spot beam pattern as well.

They also come in a spot beam pattern as well. Those are some bright azz lights! The axe and shovel are nothing special, I bought them from Walmart or Lowes. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on them since I wasn't planning on locking them on the rack. The shovel was your typical wood color and I primed/painted it red to match the axe. They are mounted to a "roll bar clamp" via Quick Fists. Mounting Links:Roll Bar Clamp Quick Fists (Southeast Overland)

| Yeah they are expensive but IMO if someone is looking to go the LED route, those are a much better option than just getting one bar. Thanks for the info on the mounts and what not. I still might want your help installing that CB I still haven't purchased | |
