| I know that a bunch of us have bought the Midland 75-822 and it seems almost that is has become the unofficial NCFJ CB, but I thought it would be cool to see WHO actually owns what..chime in with your info.

| That's one more benefit for the manual transmission, no shift linkages under there! There really is a lot of unused space below that area for the 6MT's so I figured I'd take advantage of it so I wasn't wasting any other valuable space for a CB. | |

Do you have an external speaker? I was curious how muffled the 'stock' CB's speaker would be concealed under the console.

| I'd planned on an external speaker but honestly I don't need it. The only time I have issues is at 70mph down the highway with my bald mud tires roaring and the volume only at 1/2. Otherwise, the internal speaker seems to resonate nicely through the console, almost amplifying it. I still consider running an 1/8 jack out of it to the aux input on my radio, but so far I haven't done it.
The hardest part of the install was making a custom connector for the CB antenna since I needed a 90 degree adapter that no one makes (not enough room below the radio for a standard antenna).

| Well, the rear most part of the CB I'm using is the antenna jack. I wanted to set the unit as low into the console as possible, so I've only got an 1/8" from the tranny tunnel to the antenna jack, so I just made my own extremely low profile 90 elbow that's no more than 1/16" thick. It works well and I got my SWR around 1.5 or a little lower. | |
