The factory headlights are very bright but after reading a lot of different threads I decided to go ahead and upgrade.

There are so many different bulb manufactuers that it was hard to narrow it down! I didn't want to go the HID route but wanted something as bright as possible. I ended up ordering some Polarg bulbs because it seems that everyone who has them is satisfied. A couple of people even claim that their Polarg bulbs are just as bright as HIDs but I'll believe them when I see it for myself.

Once I get them in I will take some pictures and post up a comparison!

Do you have a before/after pic of your PIAA lights?

I will have to check tomorrow to see the brand but I am very happy with the bulbs we won at the truck show last year. They are white and pretty dang bright.

I had the PIAAs in my FJ when I bought it and they were nice and bright. When the PIAAs burnt out I just through some Sylvania Silver Stars in there and have been happy. I intermittently burn out my lights so nice but not too expensive bulbs are what the Dr ordered.

I have the Sylvania Silverstars myself that I got last year at the 1st truck show at Leith. Let me just say that I get at least one high beam flash from oncoming drivers every time I drive at night. Never had that happen until I installed those bulbs. In comparison my FJ on low beam has better light coverage than our 2009 Dodge Ram on high beams. I can tell a difference in the lighting vs. my Hella 500's with the original 55w bulbs.

I had oncoming traffic flash my PIAAs after I bought the FJ. I'm pretty sure the PO never angled the lights down after the lift. A little headlight adjustment and very little flashing now.

You have the same bulbs I do then, from the previous truck show. They are really bright. I have adjusted down and still get random flashes.

Here is a side by side comparison of the Polarg bulb vs. the stock headlight bulb (low beam):

the POLARG definately make a difference. They seem to put out a cleaner light than the stock bulbs

I thought the stock lights were bright already but they look like candles compared to the new bulbs

Just saw this reply, sorry. They were around $60 or $70.

Those look great! I also have the Sylvania Silverstars. I love them but Ill probably go the HID route when these burn out. After being in Cliffs truck at night (2 sets of HID driving lights, HID fog lights and HID roof lights), Im sold. Im convinced his truck has the ability to harness the power of the sun. LOL
