| I'm taking the lazy man's approach on posting this, as I could not get the pictures to work quite right on here. One link is to my 1974 FJ40 build. It has a small block chevy 400 (quadrajet carb) and 4" lift. So far I have done the following:
new tires, new Bilstein 5125 shocks, rebuilt carb, new manifolds, plugs/wires/distributor, new roundeyes (headlights), LED's in dash cluster and side marker and tail lights, tuffy console, new weatherstripping on doors, replaced rusted out rear barn doors with another set I fixed up, some rust treatment, steam cleaned and painted underbody and chassis (chassis saver), new radiator, etc, etc. It is now at my cousin's body shop to have the rusty rockers, sill, and quarter panels replaced with new metal panels. Here is the link!

My other build is my 2008 FJ Cruiser. List of mods: ICON extended travel coilovers in front with Light Racing UCA's, Icon shocks and springs in rear, richochet front skid plate, rear scuba mod (FJNewb's kit), TRD CAI and catback, bajarack with hi-lift mounts, Springtail MPAC side storage rack, 285 Nitto Terra Grapplers, Kenwood DNX6140 head unit with GPS, JL Audio speakers and sub, Midland portable cb, etc, etc. Link:

| 40's are too cool. I had a 74 for about 2 weeks before I decided I was in over my head for restoring. That was about 10 years ago. Now I wish I would have tried it. | |

| There are times where I am in over my head! During those times, I hire someone, especially when it comes to important things like brakes and steering! But, I have a good friend who is an electrician, a cousin who does body work, and I don't mind screwing things up in the process as well! Since it's not my daily driver (as my FJ Cruiser is), I don't worry too much about getting into it. I am in no way a mechanic, but you would be surprised what you can do with time and the IH8MUD forum!
Thanks for the comments guys! I am hoping to bring it to the show in April.

| Thanks guys. The body work is being done by my cousin, who has rebuilt GTO's, Camaro's, etc from the rusty ground up. He is meticulous, so I cannot wait to see it finished. I'm not going for a show truck restore though, just getting rid of rot and having a decent looking truck that can be wheeled some. | |

| Not too much done of late. I did refurbish the dash knobs. Cleaned them up with some degreaser and then used a sharpie paint pen to re-fill the letters on the knobs. Turned out pretty good and now I can actually read them at night!
Also, have been having off and on issues with my electrical fuel pump, so I'm putting a mechanical fuel pump in this weekend. Should be more dependable and save some draw from the old electrical system as well (always a plus on these things). Right now, I'm looking for a decent hard top to refurbish, as mine is a Franken-top and the fiberglass top is damaged. I did make it look decent with bondo, but still doesn't look right.
On the FJC, I'm installing an OEM hitch next week. I got tired of not being able to rent a trailer and go pick something up, so time to fix that!
