| A 4wd FJ can run all the trails there with careful spotting so when reading the trail descriptions do not let the wording scare you away. Go try the trail if its more that you bargained for, back up, turn around, and go back the way you came and try another. Most difficult trails have bypasses on impassable to stocker obstacles. | |

Good advice...however, I would add that the trails do become more difficult in wet weather....just sayin...not impossible, just more challenging.....

| For some reason, when I click on the link above it loops me back around to the portal...is it just me or is someone else having problems as well? The link in the Brown Mountain thread works fine...? | |

| my favorite loop of trails runs from the two parking areas at on FSR553 starting out heading down dickey bell connecting to falls dam. from fallls dam run dutch john back around to slab pile, take a right and use slab pile to connect to rocky mountain loop and read left on rocky mountain loop up to saw mill. At the end of saw mill take a right onto slab pile and run it and take a right on wolf den then head for the roads.
As much as I enjoy wheeling daniel it is a dead end trail unless your entire group is comfortabel starting at the parking area at the base of daniel and running it up and following my loop.
Generally I can run my entire loop in about 2 hours if Im just driving and not stopping.
