| Heading up here the end of October. Anywhere to wheel up there? Even just simple fire road exploration stuff would be good. I want to take the family off road . Also my friend and his 4Runner will be with me. Thoughts? | |

| Richland Rd is a pretty cool place to wheel.......there's a thread on here of a group I lead out there earlier this year. | |

| Ok , Brown Mountain is closer than I thought to that area. The Richland Rd stuff looks interesting too. Irgrnr, I think I found all the pics and videos of that trip you led. I am stock right now, and the 4Runner is also stock, are these places friendly? Meaning, can we stay out of trouble completely? We won't be camping or anything this time (infants will be with us ). | |

| Richland is stock friendly.......have you ever wheeled before?
Might wanna see if some of the guys from the last group will join you for the day that trip to show you through Richland Rd, you can get lost in some sections, but I'm 90% sure they all lead to the same place.
I would join you but I'll be at the beach.

| The only wheeling I have done is on the sand in OBX. I have never been able to get out to URE with a group. ;( May need an Expert to show us some of the trails | |

| I wasn't able to go on the trip through the Richland rd trails. I was hoping to go up this fall. I might be able to join you. Late October, early Nov should be a good time. Post up the dates when you think you will be going. If we can go, my wife and 1 yr old would most likely come with me.
I have never been on the road, but don't have a problem trying to figure our way out. |

| We are definitely going up there the last weekend in October. Last year we hiked around the Chimney Rock area with the kids. This time, I was looking to find a little wheeling to take the kids on, and then somewhere to run around and hike or something. Maybe even a campfire for smores... something to entertain the kids too | |

| FJames, I was afraid it might be that last weekend in October. I won't be available. We normally host a soup and campfire get-together for some of our local friends on Halloween weekend.
If it doesn't work out for you guys, or you want to schedule a second run, I am in for an early November trip to Richland road. I have no experience with it, but I am sure we could find it. If we get lost in the trail, well, that might just be more fun!

| I am getting my 5,000 miles service that Saturday. I probably can't convince the wife to let me go on Sunday either. We are camping at Uwharrie the following weekend. My wife is getting tired of my weekends focused around wheelin or yard work! I am not, but she is. |

[url=http://forum.ncfjcruisers.com/t373p15-richland-gap-trail-run http://forum.ncfjcruisers.com/t373p15-richland-gap-trail-run[/quote[/url]] No problem, I was in the area but had plenty to do...hiked the western rim of Linville Gorge and to the top of Table Rock Saturday, hiked a short hike to the top of Grandfather Mountain then did about 6 miles out/6 back of the Black Mountain Crest Trail (Mt Mitchell) in the clouds and wind (ugly) on Sunday, and finished up with an 11 mile loop on the Uwharrie Trail Monday. I checked my email alarts on Saturday night and didnt see anything but the connectivity around Mortimore is of course sketchy at best...so was hoping I didnt miss anything cause I couldnt post anything from my end. We'll have to plan to hit it once it turns white!
