| So the factory PIAA bumper lights only work with the low beam headlights. I know this is law in some states but I want mine to work with both low and high beams (or any time I flip the switch). Is there an easy fix for this? Thought I would ask before I start snipping and experimenting since the dealership already had to replace my harness for these lights once due to a factory defect. | |

Not sure but I think that you should be able to do this and it will work. I did it on my Taco when I still had the factory fogs and it worked great. Took about 10 mins from start to finish. Hope this helps.

| Not yet...I think it's going to take some re-wiring and I haven't attempted it yet. | |

| Just out of curiosity where is your switch for the bumper lights. I think Sparks took the easiest way out possible by putting a switch on the panel closest to the drivers door. |

| The little round switch? Yes, same here. My dealer told me SouthEast Toyota adds them on down at the port, along with the roof racks, step rails, tires/wheels, hitches, etc. | |

| Yep... I guess I can't blame Sparks then! I think that switch and location sucks... Oh well it works! |

| Yeah, mine is on the silver plastic panel to the left of the steering wheel. Lazy-asses should have just used the blank spots with the rest of the buttons, on the dash. | |

| Yep we should do a run to the ports (I think Charleston some where) and bang those guys up a bit! LOL |

| I find it really strange that the OEM Toyota Hella's only come on with high beam while the dealer installed PIAA's only come on with the low beam. Are the PIAA's fog lights? I know the Hella's are driving lights... is that the difference? | |

| The PIAAs are fog lights. Wish I had an extra set of driving lights actually. The brighter the better. lol. If you get a chance, check out Scott Flushing's IPF driving lights. | |

| Guys, there is a write up in the tech section of the blue room on how to use your bumper lights on high or low beam. You have to modify a relay or something along those lines. Do a search and you should find it... pretty good write up on it. | |

| Well if you find it again let me know... or better yet post a link here. I've search everything I know and have found how to hack the high beam only lights but not the low beam only lights. |

| Here is the link I remember reading. It is about not having to have the high beams on when you use the fog lights:

Not sure if this is the same thing you are looking for or not..... | |

| Nope. I found that one too. We're looking to make them STAY on with the high beams. Mine might just get completely rewired this winter in the garage! |

| I think my lights on my bumper only come on with the high beams and won't energize with the low beams. I hooked them up with the factory button and pre-existing wiring. I was thinking about trying to do the mod to where they come on seperately, high or low beam, but never got around to it. My lights are Hella's though. | |

| Weird... mine are the opposite. They only come on with the low beams. | |

| If you read the tech thread I posted from the blue forum, their lights only come on with the brights as well. I wonder why some are on low and some on high? | |

| The Hella's are Auxillary Lights (on with high beams) and the PIAA's are Driving lights (on with low beams like fog lights). |

| Interesting. This may sound dumb but I thought driving lights had to be bigger... like the IPF driving lights. The PIAAs seem kinda weak. | |

| Looking on the PIAA website, it's all about the beam pattern. | |
