| Only applicable to those who have a CCW (Concealed Carry Weapon) permit!!!!I have two pistols (Springfield Armory XD9 w/ 4" barrel and a Berreta PX4 Storm Subcompact 9mm). The Springfield I keep at home with the laser and light attached and the Berreta is my CCW piece. I previously kept the Berreta in the console on the dash in front of the driver, but realized that in an emergency situation it actually isnt the most practical location. Good for storage bad for real life use. After much thought, I came up with this idea and it cost me all of $18 at Wally World. Its a universal holster, which is great in case I decide to carry the Springfield or even if I decide to get a different gun. It has a thumb break to keep it secure and also holds an extra magazine. I also didnt want to drill any holes. The holster is ambidextrous and all you have to do is switch everything around (if youre a righty) to the lefty position. It attaches with the belt clip right under the steering wheel and is pretty firm. Again, if youre a righty, in order to draw with your right hand from the drivers seat, you have to FLIP AROUND THE CLIP AND THUMB BREAK on the holster as if you were a lefty. So far its secure, BARELY visible (the gun comes with me when I leave the FJ), EASILY accessible and costs a fraction of the cost of a fancy gun-specific holster. Oh yeah, and NO HOLES TO DRILL!! | |

| I like that! Is it just clipped to the plastic under the steering wheel? Does it pull or damage the plastic? And does it go on and off easy? I usually carry a Glock 27 and ive been looking for a simple way to mount it without drilling holes and I think you may have just found it! | |

Thanks! Yup, it just clips onto that plastic piece. It doesnt slide all the way back but the clip is pretty strong... it took a little prying to get it over the lip of that plastic piece. Doesnt seem to scratch or damage anything and if it does (long term), it would be the inside of the plastic piece under the steering wheel.. I dont plan on ever looking in there anyway. lol. Seriously though, I think I hit the jackpot. LOL. Your glock is also smaller/lighter than my Berreta so itll probably be even easier to draw.

| Great idea. I was looking at an under the steering wheel holster on-line for like $50...thiiseems much easier and certainly cheaper. I just took my CCH class 2 weeks ago and have my paperwork in. Guess it takes 4-6 weeks for the permit. My OD Green XDM 9 doesn't do much good locked away in the back of my FJ... | |

Yeah, I saw a few of those as well. For $18 bucks and to not have to wait for the mail, I figured Id try this. Ive been driving around and Im actually pretty impressed. It hasnt budged at all and you can draw very easily. I just leave the holster in there and carry my Berreta with me. The XD9 with the laser/light stays by the bed Congrats on finishing up the CCW class! The Sheriffs dept said it would take 30-90 days for the permit to come in and Ill be damned if they didnt take every bit of those days. I hope yours comes sooner!!! Cant wait to see pics of your OD XD with the new setup!!

| Just stopped by Wally World and picked up the Blackhawk...seems like it will work great. I will probably modify the clip to better fit over the plastic and try to make it fit closer to the column. Thanks for the tip... My OD XDm | |

HAHA too funny. Id strongly encourage you both to try it first (drive around for a few days) WITHOUT modding the clip... you might be as surprised as I was. Mine stays put and doesnt budge a centimeter in either direction. But again, Im always open to suggestions to make it better!!!!!

| I was able to get my hands on another clip almost exactly like the one on the Blackhawk. I tried to make the top wider and keep the same "tension" on the spring-steel. Not as easy as I thought with this hardened steel. I have put the original back on for now.
Can't really try it out yet...no CCH.
