Potts Mountain VA July 27-28th

So now that we have hammered out a date I have made an official thread.

This will be a TWO day ride, an actual overland experience.  We will ride half of the trail on Saturday, and the rest on Sunday. 

This is a fairly tough trail. 

Recommendations
-At least one locker
-Skids
-Sliders
-Recovery points


It is located in NF lands.
These directins will drop you at the foot of the Jeep trail.
From 311 in New Castle: 
turn onto 615 (left if coming from Paint Bank area)
turn left on 609 (Sand Plant Road) 
turn left on 611 
turn right on 617








I have never been, so I am hoping Larry is game as he has been before, the trailhead is kind of hard to spot.  




We will all want to meet somewhere before hand, a gas station or something of the like.  Hopefully Larry can help give us some pointers.

I'm in......Maybe meet somewhere in g-boro? Bout 1.5hrs from there. I have coordinates in my GPS.

Few tacomas from VA are going to be going also.

Me and pops will be shooting for this. Dad should have his new front bumper by then.

I should still be game, and after talking to Larry it sounded like he will be ready for it too.

Doesn't look too bad, if you've got a locker and armor you will be fine

I think I am out for this one...I spent too much money on my SAS parts.

Potts is fairly close to my hometown, but I'll be down in SC for said weekend... damn.

Is this still happening?

Very cool.  I'd like to catch this sometime,  but have to work this weekend.
