| I am slowly starting to black my FJ out. Front grille bumpers, and mirrors (all the silver). Any advice for taking off and painting? What to use? And My FJ is a yellow 07 that I eventually want to repaint a solid white or black. Any advice on places around Jacksonville?? | |

| Cbeck are you the guy I sent from Instagram? Taking most every thing off is easy except the bumper parts. The whole bump has to come off front and back.

| I didn't take anything off mine to paint except the mirrors and door handles. Just tape and paint | |

| I did take off bumpers and grill. They were pretty easy to remove. But just taped and masked the entire side of FJ for the handles and mirrors. I have had over spray get me in the past. It leaves a rough texture to paint and is hard to get off. | |

| I've used plasti dip or black trim paint for a permanent solution. | |

| Rustolium satin black (color code # 7777) is what I used to black out my mirrors (suggested by Speedrye). Great color and durability! | |

| Plastidip would be a good way to paint the whole fj. You can even paint the rims with it. You should post some pic so that we could see the finish product. | |

| Just throwing out another option... I do have the Trail Teams front bumper ends, left and right, the rear bumper ends, left and right, and the two valence panels, front and rear, that I'll part with for $300 for all of it. The rear valence does NOT have the tow hitch cut out, but that is only a dremel tool away.
Originally purchased from Sparks Toyota in Myrtle Beach. All are in good, but NOT showroom perfect, shape. Mostly little "dings" from gravel here and there. I can post up pics, but it would take a little while.
Let me know. | |
