| On rocky mt loop yesterday I was slinging mud up the hill at one of the ledge/rock spots. I had forgot that I didn't air down and was gunning it turnig the wheel try to get a bite somewhere. When I realized it was futile, I let up and hit the brakes....but the brakes didn't hit back So I'm 5k#'s rolling back down the hill! They kicked back in and we went right back at it, after airing down. All was good the rest of the ride, and since. I was in 4low w/ atrac and rdl on. wtf over | |

| Did you just slide down the hill with the wheels locked up? | |

| There's a defect in the FJC's computer's somewhere that allows this. I've had it happen a few times on the street as well. There's a certain combination of traction loss and braking that will cause the brakes to virtually stop working. Let off the brakes completely and reapply quickly and it's usually fine. I think it's an issue with the ABS system and one wheel losing traction in certain scenarios based on my experience. | |

| Yeah I think it is usually the other way around too. Like you will hit a bump and try and apply brakes and the FJ thinks you are in a panic stop and locks them all up. I have not heard of them not working before. | |

| Isn't technology wonderful! I've had the same as Adam describes happen as well. | |

| yeah, it was no brakes, foot to the floor!
I was going to see how I would fair without airing down...well when the owl snot slickness came at me on the hill I went to run and gun and forgot that I hadn't aired down.
So there was a lot of skinny pedal after trying the finesse :-) | |
