| I have a commercial account at autozone. Their axles are complete spline to spline, and include a new nut. Life time warranty no questions asked.
$50 for a reman , i may be able to get them down even more. $70 for a new
all prices listed are negotiable at the store. more business i do the bigger discounts i get.
Im willing to bet i can get them for $45 and 60. i'll check

| That is a good deal. I don't think you can even get one for a honda civic that cheap. | |

| I am headed to Colorado in July and considering taking a spare front axle. And for $50 it seems silly not to. I assume it is not an easy feat to replace this if the need should arise? What other parts would be needed for the swap? Gaskets, seals, bearings...etc? | |

I can swap mine out in 20 minutes at home. I dunno about the FJ's. Nothing else is needed to swap a CV, unless you destroy the CV seal which is hard to do. Also make sure you have the tools to do it, mine requires a 35MM socket, which is not at all standard At worst case you can separate the CV remove the actual axle. Put one stub into the diff to contain the oil, and the other into your spindle to keep the hub assembly together. NEVER drive without a CV in place, they keep your hub together!

| I've got all the tools and spare axle with me at all times. Just need to pick up some gear oil. | |

| they are much easier to replace than that video makes out.
Jack up the truck take off the wheel turn the steering all the way to the side that is broke. remove the large nut that keeps the cv in place in the hub loosen the upper ball joint so it pops apart dropping the spindle down, pull the cv out put in the new one line up the upper ball joint and hammer back into place. put the nut back on and proceed down the trail.
