Racing Mowers

I am going to toss this idea out there. I am working on getting my racing mower going again, after a nasty crash last season.

I have had thoughts of trailering it out there, maybe do a burnout here and there. And probably drive it through the adjacent lake

True that, well hey if it runs, it will be there. I just spend 75 bucks on parts, so I will throw these at it. If it runs it runs, if not...off to the scrap heap

what kind of mower is it?? Motor??

1991 Craftsman 11.5HP OHC. Currently running a stack exhaust, with TRD resonator.

With the current pulley swap it will operate safely at 13MPH in 5th gear

I took my wife and daughter to a Legends race at CMS last summer and in between heats they had a mower race. Absolutely the most hilariously awesome thing I've ever seen in racing.

I have seen some pretty fast mowers out this way. Some of the people are crazy.

We saw 1/4 mile oval track racing. Those guys were leaning in the turns like they were racing motorcycles.

You can easily modify them to go 40MPH, but my wasn't built for that.

Well I got the mower up and driving today. The motor still purs like a kitten, but the transmission has seen better days, BUT, it does move around fine.

Need a new belt and battery before I call it perfect!
