| I know a few guys have them, Rolando and Flush come to mind. I have been on the fence in regards to adding these to my rig over the past year or so. The time is near to make a final decision. I personally like the look they provide on a FJ cruiser as long as the vehicle in question has wheels and tires to complement the addition of these flares. I have done enough research on these things to know the ups and downs of installing these flares. One downside in particular is the fact that the oem flares must be cut in order to install the Bushwackers. However, being in the machining field I believe I have the skill to create something that can remedy this factor in a way that the oem flares do not have to be cut up but it is something I still have yet to look in to. So, with those thoughts out of the way, what is the general consensus here on Bushwacker flares. Who here likes them and who here hates them. I want to hear some discussion on this from you guys. | |

| I am personally NOT a fan. I really like how the FJs fenders roll back under and the Bushwackers cover that up. Even those Warrior flares that look similar to stock, cover it up Bushwackers also cover up a LOT of the front fenders making them look all the more small and rounded off. Takes the tougher looking hard edge of the factory panel away. I usually have more of a purist attitude about modifications though.
That is also the reason I like those wodebody fiberglass fenders, or even running no flares at all. It still has the bulged out look over the tires

| Here is the one rig I think they look alright on.... Partially because they are Line-X'd...and when you have rediculously huge Road Armor bumpers and a giant rack they "fit" proportionately. A simple rule may be IF you run 35s with spacers, you can pull off Bushwackers | |

What happens is I will see a FJ with these flares and think it looks sweet then I see another and think the flares just take away from the looks of it. I think an issue for me is I am trying to find a mod I can do to enhance the appearance of my FJ and the flares offer that dramatic change but I am not so sure it is the right mod to do. I have also been entertaining the idea of a different set of wheels and tires. Who knows where this will all end haha.

| If you're doing it just make your FJ look better then sure get them, they look pretty good. Why not. But if you do any wheeling where your body will rub against something or you'll lean the flares on something, don't get them. They'll usually just snap and crack. Just my opinion on what I've seen. | |

I do go wheeling but I have yet to put my FJ in a situation where I would rub the body panels against anything. Considering it is my primary source of transportation I want to keep it in good condition both mechanically and in appearance.

| I dont think the flares look good unless you have 305 or larger tires. Maybe with wheel spacers. They just stick too far out for the normal 285 tires. |

| Quite possible Brian. Right now my 285's and 17x8 wheels with zero offset stick ever so slightly out passed the stock flares.
The chances of me getting these flares is pretty slim I think because the more I procrastinate the less likely I am to buy them. I think I will put the energy towards a six inch lift and 35's hahaha

| I feel like they are a rip off. The plastic is so thin and flimsy it is pathetic.
It must cost them less than 20 bucks to make each set

Same person took the picture too! But to the topic at hand. I'm not a fan personally but I'm sure Rolando will chime in in a month when he gets on here again!!

| I think it depends on the truck, tires, wheels and lift as to how they end up looking. Some trucks look damn sweet with them, some trucks make you wonder what where they thinkin?
For me, they are a remote possibility, but waaaaaaaay down the list of future mods.

| Well for me they are not totally off my list of mods and I am like most everyone else, it really depends on the lift, wheels, and tires as to how good they look. | |
