This is right off the Parkway and definitely riding along the top of the mountain range. My Dendrology class was up there at the parking area, and I saw the gate was open. As its only open during dear and bear season I figured I better jump on the occasion, and came back with Jarrod! We got a late start and only made it out to Shining Rock Wilderness Area, then turned back. Id say its a lil bit more challenging than Hurricane Creek, with larger rocks throughout the trail, and a few big off camber ones you'll need a spotter for, especially after we saw were someone rolled straight down a 80 ft drop off the 1st large rock. there are no large trees along this trail to catch you if you do tumble. But the views are totally worth it!
slide next to trial, pic dosnt do depth justice
Found some water-bridges on the way home to clean up at...
Hope to have Video up soon....

videos are coming out slowly... video of the first obstacle, notice how open it is to the left at the very beginning past the first bush, that's where someone rolled over and down the mountain!
..rocks look so small when you camera is mounted 8 ft off the ground!
From the other angle..

Yeah that is a great trail. Excellent camping. Wuz up BK no call to ride the trail. I've done that trail several time and love it. I did it bi=one stock with 2 days on my rig. It scratched the living crap outta my fj. Clean to the primer. It is definently one of the higher elvevation trails in WNC.
