| ok well we are back!! OMG what an amazing trip it was...from watching grizzlies fishing for sockeye salmon at brooks lodge in the Katmai forest...to a helicopter trip up to Herbert Glacier and dog sledding on the glacier...to zip lining in the rain forest and over the water near Ketchican ...and then my personal favorite of wheeling up in the mountains and forest near Haines. We played in the snow on the mountain and drank the cleanest purest water right out of the springs . The cruise up into Glacier Bay was absolutely amazing. The size of these glaciers is just unfathomable. Seals, otters, whales, salmon jumping, bald eagles roosting and flying. The weather was amazing...perfect in Anchorage, rainy and cool in the brooks lodge, Haines was awesome with 70s and partly sunny, Juneau was cool and rainy and Ketchikan was cold and RAINY!!! Angie and I are planning on someday to move to Alaska...i cant wait i know it will happen although it may be several years...it is our goal to move up there and enjoy all that ALaska has to offer. We only got a taste of it and now we are hungry for all of it... We will be posting pics as soon as we can go through them and see what all we have...there were over 1900 pics taken so we have alot of work....lol...stay tuned!! | |

| Adrienne and I also want to move to Alaska. She wouldn't move that far away form her parents though. Maybe down the road. We might have to settle for the Mountains of NC. I just need something colder than here. I am tired of the summers. |

| Kim & I did a inner passage cruise from Seattle a few years back. We had a great time, but as you already said you only get to see & experience small sections. We want to next take the Inner Passage Alaskan Ferry for a several week back packing trip. You can disembark up to 5 times & return back to the ferry over a course of 4 months for an extremely low price of around $200 per person. Spend as much time as you want in each town then back to the ferry.
Glad your trip was a great one, great vacations make great memories.

| after looking at all the pics we found that we have almost 2300 pics...so alot of them to go thru...the ferry trip sounds like a lot of fun...i would love that... My parents go to alaska all the time have been there 17 times now in the last 10 years....all different types of cruises and trips...gone from Barrow to Ketchikan...Dutch Harbor to Fairbanks...they did a cruise a few years ago that went from Seward to Dutch Harbor to the end of the Allutians on over to Russia and on up through the Bearing Sea...Dad has hunted almost everything in Alaska except Moose...i would love to move to Haines or the surrounding area...Angie however prefers a larger town as Haines only has 1800 full time residents...i talked to a guy in Haines who is from Arkansas originally and he told me that he went to Haines 33 years ago to visit and didnt use his return ticket... | |

| I know its jaw-dropping beautiful up there, but isn't it also extremely harsh at times. I mean arent the winters really long and deadly cold? Doesnt the sun set for months at a time in the southern part of Alaska or is that only up at the top?
I'd love to visit too, but as much as I would probably fall in love with Alaska if i did visit, I still don't think i could make that much of a lifestyle change. People have to deal with so much stuff up there that can kill you, things we don't worry about down here in the sub-tropics.
I guess some people do it though.

| Glad you guys had a good trip and made it home safely. Don't go moving away on us now! Me and Lisa would like to see you guys more often and if you move up there well, that's another world away from here. Let's see some pictures! Did you bite a bears ear for me or what?! | |

| Yuri...there are probably more things down south that can kill you more often and more easily...namely People...lol...there are NO SNAKES in Alaska...you cant drive far enough to get in trouble...if you go to Alaska you WILL fall in love with it ..guaranteed.. i have wrestled an alligator and now a bear...honestly the gator was tougher... ok i was just kidding bout the bear...they are pretty tough...ok..kidding about all of that...lol...but seriously...Alaska is amazing in everyway... the winters are very harsh...however it really depends on where you are as to how cold it gets and how much snow you get...Fairbanks last year got about 50' of show...thats right 50 feet..all of alaska got way more than they normally get..Haines got 28 feet...juneau got what they normally got and ketchican doesnt really get snow...mostly rain...anchorage also got more than normal...but fairbanks gets to -40 degrees regularly in the winter but as high as 90 in the summer...i have personally picked Haines as my favorite place in Alaska and it normally gets 12-15 feet of snow a year...we have a pic of how deep the snow actualy got last year...and while we were there it was in the low to mid 70s...very very nice... we are not moving anytime soon..we have alot of responsibilities here to take care of before we can really think about it...but IT WILL HAPPEN!!! | |

| HaHa! You realize you are using the unit "Feet" to describe snow fall? FEET!? No thanks.
I too like the serenity of the wilderness, splendor of natural wonders and the lure of the living on the last frontier; but I gotta have snowfall amounts less than 1 foot per year! LOL!
Seriously though I am really enjoying the pics of your trip you have posted on FB. What a magnificent place!
