I have been reading a lot about Savannah Cats. I am going to talk to a breeder in pilot mountain, NC tomorrow about getting a F2 kitten in a few weeks when he has a new litter available.
They are awesome cats that have dog like tendencies and look like a wild cheetah. What do you guys think?

I have 4 adopted dogs but they are too large to be indoor dogs so I was thinking a dog like cat would be a good indoor pet.

Forget the cat, go with a Boxer dog! Not too large, very smart, great in small areas, and... they act like dogs

I dont want another dog. Dogs are difficult to introduce into an already comfortable pack of dogs. I have two mutts that are large pit/hound/st bernard mixes and are about 50-65lbs and two standard poodles who are 45-55lbs. Another dog, especially a smaller one would be an issue with my pack.

Wish I knew you were looking. We are putting a 6 week old kitten in a new home today. My wife found it in the rain at the mall 2 weeks ago. It has been on some antibiotics and has some sores, but is healing nicely. Cute little orange tabby. We already have 3 other cats and 3 dogs.

As cute as it is, If i do a cat it will be a hybrid cat like the savannah cat. They are more dog like in their tendencies and can be taken on walks taught to play fetch etc.

Sure, go for it. However when you get drunk and pass out, that thing is going to eat your face off!

I highly doubt it... I would be more worried about certain domesticated dog breeds.

Looks better than a normal cat, I say try it out. I am sure the price tag is pretty up there

i was entertaining the same idea 2 years ago (the place was in Mississippi for $1200)......ended up adopting from the local rescue (saved a life for $40). They are pretty dang sweet though.
keep us posted on what you get.

It will be a few months out because I dont ever want to make a hasty decision when bringing another animal into my house. With a cat that can jump and hit the cieling I need to do some house cleaning in places I dont generally touch. Top of the fridge, on top the the kitchen cabinets, on top the hutch, mount the surround sound speakers instead of having them just sitting on their pedestals.... that kind of stuff.
