There are a few of us running the Midland 75-822, with Bandi mount and 3' or 4' Firestick II antennas. It is a pretty good combo!

Big Bill combo, right? That combo started over on fj cruiser forums I believe. So a lot of those guys run it. It is basically same as what I mentioned...except it comes with the Cobra cb and the Firefly antenna. After researching, I went with the Midland because it can be taken outside the vehicle and used as a handheld. I also like the firestick II antenna. I'm pretty sure they are close in the same price range. I don't think you could go wrong either way

Well basically, the best place to mount your antenna is gonna be on the hinge of the trunk, but to do so, you need a bracket called the Bandi Mount, which costs $50 haha
