Hey Bobby...id guess the height without the light cage is about 6-7"...i made it flat and in doing so the front and back are higher off the roof than the middle...i certainly could have made it a bit shorter but i also wanted the "stars" to be seen...had i made it shorter i wouldnt have been able to do that..i would love to get with you and see what we can come up with...just let me know..

the main frame is 1.5" and the upper tubing and light cage are all 1" tubing...the "rack" or floor is .5" square tubing...it is very very strurdy...i had no problem standing on it and moving around...no give or shakiness in it at all...
