| I've been running these mud terrains now for about 30k miles in 265/70-17 size and I absolutely love them. It amazes me that I see so few people running them. I'm down to less than 1/4" of tread and they still stick like glue to the road in wet and dry conditions. They aren't as good in deep mud as they were new, but they'll still get me out much better than the stock tires ever could. The tires are more noisy now than new, but not terrible. I've rotated all 5, which is a pain since the tires are directional. They've never needed to be rebalanced and have worn very evenly which is impressive considering the mileage. One thing to keep in mind is that I drive very hard on all my tires. On my other cars, I typically get 8k-10k miles from brand new to steel belts showing... When new, the tires are incredible in deep mud (12"+) and clean out very well if you keep wheel speed up. Light snow traction is fine, but they really shined in deep snow. 16"+ of snow was no problem at all and the truck always felt sure footed. I haven't been out in the rocks with them, so I can't review that aspect of these tires. I will certainly be ordering another set of these in 285/70 or 315/70 later this year! | |

| I guess it's good that I don't do much rock crawling. The irony of your statement is that I've had multiple sidewall failures on BFG's both on and off-road. Oddly enough, they were never cuts or tears, but inner belt failures. | |

| I have had inner belt issues with them too but at least they didn't deflate. Lol | |

| MTR Kevlar, or swamped truxxs MT. Both have decent road manners excellent off-road performance and are available in radials. | |

| I think I'm going back to mtz's. I have had 2 sets on different ttrucks and I swear they were the best tire I've ever owned. And the side biters really do work. I have maxxis big horns right now and for the price I can't fault them. They have stood up to some hard use and a little abuse. I also have never popped one but the side walls are in pretty bad shape. The superlift park did these in. That slate is something terrible on tires. I put 30000 on my mickey mtz' and sold them with around half tread. They were 33x12.50r17's. My maxxis have over 40000 and have done supprisingly well. They are 305/70r17's and have been all over the country many times. The sidewalls just aren't aggressive enough for me. But for a $215.00 tire I have surly gotten my money's worth. | |

| my next set of tires will be maxxis creepy crawlers in a 37x12.50r17 red label. But as far as most people on here will be concerned I would highly recomend you look into MTR kevlars for the street manners. | |

| Sounds like a very aggrssive tread thread...but for those of us that don't do as much off-roading and want a tire that looks rugged, will work well off-road but well mannered on the highway...what are your thoughts on the new BFG Rugged Terrain AT. They look pretty good, not terribly expensive ($206 at Sam's for 285/70/17) and come with a 50k warrantee. | |

| Goodyear duratracks if you want a less aggressive tire. Bfg rugged trails suck. The sidewalls are made of paper mashet | |

Suggestions? I love my GY Duratracs... no issues, rugged look, good for on and off road IMO. Jami actually told me he's considering getting a set. | |

| these are the new ones... might as well stick with the dueler HT's that come on from the factory. The Kevlar MTRs are probably the best on/offroad tire that actually performs that you can buy, ill give the duratracks a close second. | |
