PostSubject: Hello from the Outer Banks   Tue Aug 20, 2013 1:55 pm

Hi All.  I was directed to this site from the FJ forum site.  I purchased my first FJ about 3 weeks ago.  I couldn't be happier.  I've eyeballed the FJ for a couple of years now.  There are quite a few that traverse my area in the summer.  There are two others down the street from me.  One is Black Cherry and the other is Yellow.  I think it has the best styling of most any vehicle out there, affordable anyway.

I found the selections to be a bit sparse when going out looking.  Had to go to a Virginia Beach dealer who had 5 on the lot.  I picked the one with the roof rack, running boards, 16" TRD wheels, BFG AT and a trailer hitch.  The color is Magma.  I'd post a picture if I could figure out how to do it but I'm new to forums and such so don't know where to post it to get it here.

Anyhow, I absolutely love driving it.  I've recently retired so basically I'll be using it around the area and on the beach.  We recently parted ways with a 1999 Jeep Cherokee Sport.  The darn thing wouldn't die.  The FJ reminds me of that truck only in the fact that they hardly changed anything about it over the years.  I think if you've got a good thing going, why change it?

I'm looking forward to getting the opportunity to drive up to Corova soon.  Waiting for the most of the tourists to clear out before I make the drive up. It takes forever in the summertime.

Glad to be aboard!
