Well back when I had the Bridgestone Dueler 684II, I didn`t care for those tires and swapped a few times using Raceline Monster`s with Nitto TG`s (excellent combo for trail), and then Mastercraft MT`s on wheelers steelies for a while, those were very good in the pines, and now have been running Hankook ATM RF10`s on the stock wheels in Pizza cutter size of 255`s with ST spacers...
you can def feel the strain with the larger diameter tire with the AC on makes it worse. The very same reason why I got away from the 33`s and towing the boat. A gear change is a long way off, but something I`d like to do when the rig is a little older and I have another DD.
since any remote wheeling has taken a back seat (where we used to live the trails were literally down the road, so easy access anytime we wanted to cruise the trails)
BUT, the FJ is seeing a ton of street duty and the miles are racking up with travel and upcoming interstate travel.
I`m think what is a good sport truck tire and the Falken Ziex S/TX-04 comes to mind, in a 31.5 in diameter.
I`ve always had a second set of wheels to swap back and forth and sold most to make way for new... so who knows just yet...
I`m thinking a set of wheels for street duty, that Falken tire is sufficient for very good grip even on the boat ramps, I`ve seen a ton of sport trucks towing larger boats with street tires and no issues on the ramps...
so since we`ll be seeing a lot of street miles I was contemplating getting a street set now I`m seeing way more wet weather and roads, than dry, dirt and sand...
any thoughts?
