You know, I thought about doing that and how important it would be to show the difference in initial sag (due to my factory front shocks at the moment)... but I was thinking about this as I was holding the bumper in place to start bolting it on... I said screw and continued the mount. Sad

But it honestly doesn't look like it weighed the front end down much (if at all) to the naked eye. I know it'd be much more significant with a winch mounted as well, and I'm expecting the front to sag more over the next couple weeks... 5100's are in the VERY near future.

yeah i know its a heavy bumper but normally wont sag it too much if you have a lift...with no lift iy will drop the front end pretty good...

Yea but the lift on my front only consists of the spacer. Back shocks/springs were replaced but not the front

I wouldn't use 5100s to hold weight. It's the springs that do the work, and it'll ride the same as stock with the 5100s. Maybe even a little MORE bouncy since you are just raising the perch.

Well I've got 90K miles on the current ones and they feel like they could use a replacement, plus I want to level the front end out with the 3" rear. Springs are something I would love to get, but I don't have a whole lot of knowledge about them. Any suggestions for a combo? Keep in mind I'm pretty low-budget at the moment.

I dont know much about them either except with a bumper you should look into like a Medium spring I think.... I believe if you throw 5100s on it, itll still ride not-so-good due to the added weight. May want to start looking into "real lifts" with new springs and struts together...one step before adjustable coilovers.... Something like OME coils on 5100s...

I hear ya, I mean my back is fine with the RC lift, I just gotta figure out a cost-efficient, but dependable way to get the front up the same way.

Heres a good example thread I came across

http://www.fjcruiserforums.com/forums/suspension-steering-tech/87977-arb-bumper-dropped-front-end.html

Sounds like rule of thumb is OME 885s with just the bumper...886s with a winch too.

AWESOME! Preciate that link man! So if I were to go with either of those springs, I wonder if I'd be okay with the stock shocks still?

Its a chance...but do you want to take that chance??. If you have it all apart it wont cost much to add some struts. I got my 5100s on ebay new for $155. You might even just try and find someones take-offs on the Blueroom or Craigslist if you can!...may find a pair with nearly no miles for next to nothing.

So what you're saying is keep the spacer up front, try and find some used 5100s for cheap, and buy the springs new?

i have the 885s with stock shocks...winch and heavier bumper...didnt drop my front end at all...measured it and everything...no drop...the toytec lift is the 885s with half inch spacer and i kept my stock shocks...the rear are the toytec springs...im gonna eventually add the 5100s but im in no rush...basically i have stock ride ...no issues at all!!
my bumper and winch probably weighs 120 lbs...

No the springs will lift your front end. You'd throw the spacers you are using now out along with the stock springs (you sell them actually lol). Then find ANY new struts while you have it apart to put in....if they were 5100s great...they have more travel (they would be set on lowest perch anyway) But you could get some OEM takeoffs, regular or BIlsteins just so that you have NEW struts in there. The springs are the only thing that will give you the lift!

Good deal there! 1200mi. struts will definitely be better than putting back in 90000mi ones!
